Knicks · If we don’t make any big moves keep Randal @ center (page 1)

TLover @ 2/4/2020 3:18 PM
playing Randal @ center allows us to use Morris & Knox at the 4. If Morris is traded then Knox will play his best position, he is not a 3. Also Barrett is a better 3 than 2.

You get shooters around Randal he will dominate down low.

BigDaddyG @ 2/4/2020 3:34 PM
Yeah, but that defense
Nalod @ 2/4/2020 3:44 PM
Depends on the future.
Smart thing is trade Morris if a good return can be had. Im ok with Robinson off the bench, seem Taj good to start, but robinson finishes.
Move Barrett to the 3. Play Dennis and Frank and see if the chemistry is there. Knox back up RJ and can Barrett to the 2. Let it happen.
Then bring in the New President and let him or her work with Perry. If the direction is thru the rebuild.
That does not mean "Don't trade". If Mills was forcing it to keep him job, well that's now not an issue.
NYKBocker @ 2/4/2020 3:52 PM
Gotta move either Morris and/or Randle. This is a lost season. Time to get some assets and play the youngins. Then we get to see Wooten with Mitch patrolling the paint.

Wooten is a forward. If Trier is cooked we should cut him loose see if he can catch on with a team. Ellington as well. Good dudes. Have to push thru new blood.
I actually like Randle but not thrilled how we implement his talent. No issue with the occasional heat checks but his interior game the rim is impressive. Miller is using him more efficiently as time goes on.
Up close in Charlotte his first quarter performance was impressive. I was at that game. They had no answer for him. Then they did but we could not respond.
Fact is I am attached to our rookies and young'ins and have irrational loyalty so I dont' want any of them gone. Im not the GM and dont' have to make those choices. Fun to see DSjr respond after his awful season. Not everyone shares this sentiment and wanted him banished. That's not "I told you so" that's "im glad".

Will be interesting to see how much lattitude Perry gets to make deals. Dolan might want to leave the big deals for the next regime.

We know, at very least, he has the go ahead to move Morris. Probably everyone other vet on the roster too.

If that Morris story is true, I could see that getting Dolan PO'd. Morris is 30, injured too often, and we're supposed to be rebuilding. Im guessing there is an outside chance Perry might be auditioning for team pres. for the rest of the season.

Vmart @ 2/4/2020 5:46 PM
Don’t know why Perry is still around he should have been sent out too. I mean he is the reason why they hired Fizdale in the first place. And adding excess vets to a rebuilding team is in him too. Mills-Perry they worked hand in hand.
Chandler @ 2/4/2020 5:54 PM
Randle has some skills but is fundamentally dumb. dribbling into double teams set up long in advance; last night game on the line and he's trying to dribble behind his back.

not winning basketball

Allanfan20 @ 2/4/2020 6:07 PM
Not moving Morris would be a disaster and I am starting to like him. We can always get him back next Summer if we love him that much. We need to get an asset though. His trade value will never be higher than what it is now.

i like Morris too, but he's not on our timeline and we should sell high. It hurts a little to sell high because you're often prone to thinking things will continue to get better

the fact of the matter is there are at least 6 teams who should want Morris and rightfully so because he can help them

We don't need to make any trade this season …. We need to keep being creative in building a set plan, and making plays for the trio & tandem scorers. Yes, we need two creative scorers to take the ball out of Randle-Handle hands in crunch-time minutes. Yes, we need another center (FA Drummond), to put Taj Gibson at his natural PF position to tandem in a lineup having MitchRob at center, and Knox at SF. Yes, we need to give Morris an extension contract. Yes, we need to get our guard rotation on the same-page by Tandem Frank & DSJ in a lineup, and Payton & Dotson in a lineup to run the back-court offense.
Yes, we could use one or two more creative coaches added to the coaching-staff next season.

Randle fits poorly with Mitch. He would of fit well with Porzingis

How do you know that this wasn't Mills's call?
