Knicks · Leon Rose? (page 11)

Yes he is and he is an idiot. What exactly did he want the fans to do? Boycott? Fans are showing Dolan how we feel by heckling him. What exactly can we do?
Nothing we can do, but doesn't prevent us from being suckers. We are gluttons for punishment.
Kellerman should stick to boxing. He is a self professed Knicks fan who is frustrated with the franchise to the point where he will never advocate for a decision from them until after is was proven out.
Agreed. I like Max. But he stopped being a Knicks fan when he moved to LA to do ESPN Radio with Marcellus Wiley. He became a Lakers fan. Now he's back in New York and being exposed as a fair-weather fan.

We have no core. Even on paper. My thinking is they will burn some assets to get some experience here. our great assets are cap space and our plentiful picks.
None of this simple. We'll see how it goes. There is no proven method. It all comes down to capitalizing on value and circumstance. Phil signing Noah wasn't the problem. Phils signing Noah to a 4 yr deal was the problem. If Noah was had for s a 1-2 yr deal then noone would really have a problem with that shot in the dark attempt at playoffs. If they look to starphuck, then judgement will come based on value and circumstance. Trading 2 first round picks for Chris Paul in order to just have someone to start off with would be terrible value, and doesn't fit the circumstances. Neither would trading 3-4 picks for Booker or something. Then contining to sell off assets to attempt to make the starphuck work.
The best thing that could happen is us hitting on this yrs draft pick along with Barrett, Mitch & any one of the other young prospects taking large steps. Then utilzing some of the assets we have to bring it together with a proven stud. With assets still left over to fall back on still. And if they really wanted to play high level chess. They would also look to continue to flip some of these picks for multiple future picks hoping to catch someone slipping and net a lotto pick out of it.
Is there a game changer in this yr draft that no one knows about?
It sound like your saying lets just be a bad team until we one day we land that special player in the draft.
Let me asked you something, If you had and opportunity to do what Miami did twice (once with shaq, then bosh and and labron)or what The celtics did (with KG and ray allen) in order to win a championship now, would you do that?
This post comes off like you didn't comprehend anything I said. But i'll play along.
Is there a game changer in this yr draft that no one knows about?
Donovan Mitchell wasn't viewed as a game changer going into the draft. Niether was Paul George, or Kwahi Leonard, or Klay Thompson, etcX100.... We need that type of break.
It sound like your saying lets just be a bad team until we one day we land that special player in the draft.
The first words stated in my post was "there is no proven method". Followed up by "it all comes down to capitalzing on value and circumstances". Meaning it wouldn't matter if it was through the draft or any other process. As long as the value holds up and the circumstances matched. For example I wouldn't even have a problem trading for Chris Paul if we were a championship calibre team. If he was able to be had in a salary dump with maybe offering a future protected pick to attempt to get over the hump. Trading the pick could be an option as well *IF THE VALUE AND CIRCUMSTANCES* make sense. But being able to draft one is still the best outcome since he would have a rookie scale salary. And his timeline would match.

These examples you are talking about are prime examples of capitalizing on value and circumstance. Miami blew up their playoff team that lost to the Knicks and netted 2 lotto picks in Caron Butler and Wade, I believe in back to back yrs. As well as cleared up their cap while they tanked those yrs to net Lamar Odom as a free agent. Then capitalized on Shaq and Kobe having a falling out. With Shaq being one of the most dominant players in the league with a few end of prime yrs left. These teams you named paired up draft picks that hit(Wade, Pierce) with proven superstar 2-way players capitalizing on value and circumstances.

All this bloviating about what the fans want kills. Yes, I want to win. But I understand that doesn't happen overnight. It's the fact that there never seems to be a plan that kills me. I won't pass judgement until the team puts a staff together, but I'm not overly optimistic. At least the team is reaching out to the media. I'm fine if Stoute becomes the face of the organization. There just isn't much to get behind yet.

This is they guy who rebrands the Nets. Seriously do people just get dumber when they work for the Knicks. You can take a guy with a good reputation and turn it sour by their own idiocy. People seriously show their stupidestest side-by their own fault-when they work here.

Ok i get it, but based on history, who have we drafted and developed other Ewing, Starks, Mason. We don't have an ounce of evidence to prove otherwise, and there's been dozen and dozens of young players to be drafted or signed as FA's, who develop into anything note worthy
Do you know what Ganis, PG13, Mitchell, kawhi all have in come besides where they were picked, they all went to small market teams. NY isn't for everybody, and IMO, it's not a good environment for most young players to develop in...show me proof..
Any success the NYK ever had came from a veteran roster with a couple of nice young role players, like starks, houston types
Now here's what else I want you to think about, of all the players that had success in NYC, and there's been so few (Ewing, King, Sprewell, Mason, harper,Camby, KT, Amare, Starks, Melo..80's, 90's 2k) now compare those personalities, the competitiveness, the work ethic, the energy, to Knox, Frank, DSJ..
Playing those guys in extended garbage minutes because the season is a wash, is exactly why they have not developed nicely and continue to take losing as another day at the office..

The difference is that we never really heard about this guy when he was with the Nets. I doubt Marks went to him for major organizational decisions. They have a solid organization and don't really need a mouthpiece. Dolan is using this guy in a much larger role.

But we dont know what his role actually is. Advisor? Image consultant? Rebranding specialist? I can kind of see why Dolan would let his image guy speak. And on the flip side how hard is his job? Did he speak with the Nets? Why is it different here? He should know what to say and what not to. This is just stupid.

Ouch. This is embarrassing. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him gone tomorrow morning.
If anyone listens to the Michael Kay show, Don LaGreca is 100% right. The Knicks have zero marketing problems. They hardly need marketing. If the team shows even remote competence on the court, the fans will flock to them and do nothing but talk to them.
I have no idea why SAS was screaming about half-time and pre-game entertainment. What percentage of fans in NY even give a rats ass about that? A good portion of fans are taking a piss, getting a beer or soda and nachos and walking around a bit during halftime and enjoying the warm-ups during pre-game.

There's a media policy? Hahaha I don't take this seriously. I mean Stoute. He's Spike Lee, but he gets paid real money, not frontcourt seats. Like you said, nobody really cares. I'm waiting for our POBO to take the mic. That's when we should turn on the heavy scrutiny. I can't get upset about someone putting on a clown performance hosted by two clowns and a rotation of hot assistants, uh, I mean moderators who tend to be gorgeous. I mean, you know what I mean.

Id say Stoute is not needed...yet. Stoute made his fortune promoting talented (if not brilliant) performers. His job in the past hasnt been trying to turn chicken shit into chicken salad. That showed in the interview. There is nothing to sell right now, not even a team president in place. No big time stars to sell to the public as well. Hiring Stoute now and sending him out there to do an interview was putting the cart before the horse. The horse being a team worth paying attention to.
The Knicks are relevant, they just stink as a basketball product.
And yet...

He over stepped for sure, but to the starphuched 1248s that want the buzz that a big name coach brings.

Reports last week said William Wesley would be joining incoming president Leon Rose in the team’s front office. Tuesday night, however, The Athletic, reported Wesley will not join the Knicks in any official capacity.
