Kid from a college football crazy town hits the Knicks for 48 hitting something like his last eight straight FTs.

This, free throws and the four point swing when they took away Mitch’s basket and gave the hawks a time out.
Hawks win with some serious help from the refs .... that should have been win number 5
Kudos for a tough road loss 2 ot loss. Randle had a lot to do with them being in the game.
We don’t have a closer. Morris was getting better at it. Randle is not a closer. ITs who we are at the moment.
I like the energy and the fight. Paytons round the back pass to get the lead I thought was gonna do it. ATL at home. Its the NBA.

I can’t help but think that Zo could have helped. I was at a family patty today and we were trying to figure out why Zo is now a buyout candidate.

Was really looking forward to seeing Zo's development this year. Very frustrated with his situation...

Me too. It's two coaches now... I have no idea what happened there. But the reality is that players come and go. There are hundreds of talented players who couldn't stick because of other issues, just like there are plenty of bums in the league (Lance Thomas) who stick because they are cool and know their role. Zo seems likes a good teammate when he isn't gunning, but who knows what's happening behind the scenes?

Trier is like the guard version of Randle, only much worse.
Prove me wrong

Well...Trier doesn't really turn the ball over like Randle...of course you can't turn it over if you are shooting...

He was almost a 45-40-80 guy last year and he doesn't turn the ball over like Randle.

Zo can actually shoot and doesn't have to put his head down and bull his way through traffic, constantly, like Randle does. He doesn't turn the ball over like Randle. Zo is a bench player, when his shot is off, he is yanked off the floor. Randle is not coming out the game as he's our best player. We've been dealing with Randles turnovers down the stretch of games all year long and not much has been done about it.
Randle’s scouting report was that he was dumb. We’ve seen that in multiple instances including tonight.
He should’ve let guard bring up at end of regulation. That proved to be the inflection point
Glad that team came back from Defecit.
You can’t fix stupid
Guys, Triers TO volume is just about the same as Randles, and probably worse so considering usage. His Assists to TO rate is about the same as Randles. Sure Randle does have about 3 TOS per, but about the same amount of assists. Can we get past just simple reading of basic stats?
Trier looks for his own shot and that’s about it. An ISO Player. Sucks at D.

Wally was talking about needing a guy that could get his own shot in the post game. Made me think of Trier.

For me that’s about his only redeeming value. Unfortunately it doesn’t play well the rest of the game or within a team framework. There is a good darn reason why Miller hasn’t played this guy much in spite of his ability to shoot (something the Knicks have been desperate for all year) as well as break down ability.
Anyway, this was a good Tankathon game
tough loss. We completely phucked up OT after a good comeback.

Tough loss. Both teams made good runs. Knicks came back yet again. Thought Randle was a beast in first half. Nice games from Bullock, Mitch, Frank and Ellington. First game that I saw Payton forcing things. Of course, we can all point to things that we could have done differently in retrospect but good game and too bad we did not hold on to that 8 point lead in OT. Thought maybe Bullock should have gotten more burn early in the second half. Frank given more run in 2nd OT. Also, we should have kept our aggressiveness with an 8pt. lead. Think there were 3 straight possessions in which they tried to burn clock and passed up scoring opportunities. But like I said, easy in retrospect. Almost had 5 in a row. Starting to look like we may have a stronger 2nd half of the year.
regarding trier, Miller recently had some interesting comments about Wooten, saying how he's better served with 30 quality minutes in G league versus call up
Curious about Trier in that regard, whether he's even allowed to go to G league for such quality minutes
Frankly i'm more concerned about KK. I've seen a lot of positives from him this year, but only in bits and pieces. One game he shoots well but nothing else; another game he seems to be rebounding better or driving with strength, but then disappears. He needs to start putting it all together in ever game, consistently
We need KK to succeed at a consistent role, more so than Trier

I tried to see what Wooten was doing in GLeague recently and he is either sick or hurt or something, hasn't played in a week or more. I think it's good to keep him there for the duration of season. Same with Iggy, and I like the numbers he is putting up, across the board he is producing.
Trier is definitely an enigma and it's too bad he just didn't decide to go to GLeague himself to put up stats and maybe get a lot of run as a PG. At this point it's hurting his career not getting minutes and would have at least peaked interest if he showed he could run a team.
KK is just a mess. His half hearted defense is wide open obvious and his shot is not there any more, no idea what he did differently at beginning of season to now.
And it does seem like DSJr has got his athleticism back - he is another guy who could have built himself up in GLeague. Did backtrack some P&T articles and this is the second summer DSJr is coming off of a shooting coach who was trying to work on his mechanics.

“So did he walk the walk this summer? Eh. I don’t really think so. Revamping a jumper isn’t a one summer thing, to be fair, but he went through this last year in Dallas too — that offseason he worked with Steph Curry’s trainer (all are from North Carolina). Hence my tinfoil hat theory that an injury derailed his form and he played/shot through it for months in Dallas, cementing a shittier shot than he had at NC State.”
