Knicks · miami lost the iggy trade (page 1)

iggy sucks so far and team is losing like crazy with him. he was a -33 this game and they lost to the hawks
GustavBahler @ 2/21/2020 2:36 AM
He's 36, and has only played a handful of games this season. Takes older vets a few months to get up to speed. Has a few months before the playoffs to get ready. Thats when we'll really know if the trade was worth it.

He was starting to suck last season, I don't get why the media seemed to think he would be a huge factor- didn't like that trade at all for the Heat

I did! Glad to see someone else made a stupid deal!

One game sample.

as someone who is the same age, jaysus, let the dude get into game shape before announcing bold proclamations. I am not saying that you are right or wrong. just don't compare November-Iggy to almost-March-rest-of-league

This. I remember Amare looking washed when he was alternating games with KMart and getting limited minutes when he could play. Once he got regular minutes his play improved dramatically. I think Iggy has played 3 games. Too early to make conclusions.
Nalod @ 2/21/2020 12:40 PM
My guess is Miami thinks with a few tweeks they can make noise in the playoffs. Gianis tweeks an ankle no telling what happens. Heat making a run. Iggy is a glue guy. Him and Butler bring a ton of leadership and you need that in a play off battle. heat can go toe to toe with anyone in the east but Milwaukee.

Lakers may have lost the AD trade. Lonzo and Hart look amazing tonight. Ingram is amazing. I don’t think the Pels catch the Griz for the 8 seed but a LAKERS Pels first round series would be awesome.

Could get much worse for the Lakers if AD bounces after a year or two- gave away their draft picks to the Pels too.

Zion averaging 22pts 7rebs in 27mins.

I’ve been surprised at how quickly (ie instantly) he’s been putting up numbers, thought he’d struggle at first especially after being out so long

?

Lakers second best record in league and lost trade?

Maybe they both won?

I think Lakers always knew the trade would be about a 2-3 year window to win a championship with LeBron or at least get to that stage.

Nalod @ 2/22/2020 1:23 PM
Lakers got Lebron with a window. It was a window for then to also get Lebron Davis and seemed highly collutive. Lakes had to pay a big price to get Davis.
Tell me, if you add Lebron in concept to the trade is it a better deal for Lakers? In effect, that what it was.
Lakers were floundering and they made a big move to cash in the chips. They cleared out Randle and the trade for Davis. Don't worry 1248, knicks will do similar.
Lebron broke last season and this year he is top 3 MVP candidate. Davis stays healthy they are contending. Lose the trade? if they hang a banner from the rafters i think not. If they go to conf. finals I think not. Look were they were the last few years.
If Lebron had Ball and Ingram this year? I think they'd still be pretty good.
Good trades are Win-Win! sometimes both teams win.

Back to the OP;

After all the static, would have loved to see a Heat/Grizz game before the season ended. Too bad that the only way for them to meet now will be in the Finals. Missing out on some hockey-fight type drama...

I'm sure Nalod will correct me, but I can't remember a team recently having that much publicized ill feeling with a teammate.

Do you really believe this? The Lakers could win at least one title from that trade. That wasn't happening with Lonzo, Hart, and Ingram.

It's all about championships, and that was a trade that put them into that conversation. They won that deal going away.

Agreed. With Lebron twilight in the immediate future, chips are all that matter now. Lakers weren't sniffing 2nd best in the league with those 3.
Wonder where LeQ goes next? He's got the player option after next season. Or who's the next elitist he gets to come over next season?

Lonzo's not going to make anyone forget Doncic, and Ingram seems a bit fragile. He's a great fit next to Zion though.

how is it not a bigger deal that iggy just decided not to play all year b/c he didn't think the team is worth it. that. is. pathetic.

looked even worse when they started playing well- what was his excuse then for not bothering to play but still cashing those checks- disgraceful, amazing how he got such a pass by the media.
