It was a lot of enthusiasm about this FO in the media and even here on UK.
The live testing showed that it was no basketball substance in this.
Everybody likes a good story in America but this had no happy ending.
The good story must be written by doing not by Hollywood scripts.

What went wrong was that they failed to land KD and Kyrie- Perry and Mills seemed to think KD was coming with another max player and it explains all of their moves (choosing Fiz, trading KP etc). When that didn't happen they were all doomed. In retrospect, if they knew KD wasn't coming I doubt they would have traded KP, and maybe would have gone for Bud over Fiz. If we had Bud as coach I doubt very much he would have signed off on the FA's we signed in the offseason.

I have seen a few people speculate that if the Knicks had won the lottery KD would have come. Not sure if there is anything to it.

I have read that Steve Mills prioritized having an all black front office over and above putting together a talented program. One one hand I oculd see the appeal from a recruitment perspective, but on the other hand the NBA saw his program as a friggin joke. Certainly is a bummer that they opted to build a program based on anything other than basketball
No it didn't go wrong - that;'s ALL it ever was a fukking PR move.

I think that the mess like Knick organization was after Phil fiasco on top of all other fiascos before is not reparable.
Organization in this state must be bankrupt and cleaned up to the bone.
Owner is the constant but Dolan have to forget about it as his toy to have this toy resurrected and give him pleasure again.
I hope that even a full like him can finally get it.
Unfortunately it moves the beginning farther into the future for all of us fans frustration.
Hopefully three is a true beginning not another rebranding of sht of whatever color it is.
