Lamelo was massive question marks as a high end prospect.

I wouldn't pass on him because of his dad whose 15 minutes is over. Lamelo has the best court vision, and is the best ballhandler in the draft and its not really close. I think he will be a star. We probably end up with Lonzo too who is developing into a very good player. I dont know if anyone saw the Dallas game the other night but he was fantastic. Lonzo's shot was horrific and now he is shooting 38% from 3. I think Melo will improve. Kid is still a 6'7" PG who you can tell loves basketball. He will work hard on his game. He isn't Kevin Knox who looks like he would rather be anywhere else. People who hate on Lamelo still believe in Frank as a lead guard

Agree it should be a bball decision. I would have a plan in place to deal with his Dad though. So there arent any more PR fiascos.
How does OP know what Dolan wants or not?
Lamelo is a better prospect that Lonzo, and Lonzo is better than any pg we have on our team. We not only should draft Lamelo, we should be willing to move up if we have to in order to get him.
Let say thibs is coaching the knicks he doesn't want to deal with drama had to much to deal with wolves if you get lamelo ball its drama times a million. The reason lavar isn't talking about lonzo is because lonzo is in new orleans small market team no drama like in los angles where lavar talked lot of junk. The best situation for lamelo is to go to small market team like piston,hawks, suns,or cavs it will better for lamelo on small market team less distractions he can focus on basketball. The teams that will not draft lameolo ball charlotte ,kings,warriors, and spurs. The reason charlotte won't touch lamelo ball because they have point guards and plus michael jordan doesn't like lavar ball thinks he is an idiot. The kings won't draft lamelo because luke walton coached lonzo ball and lavar ball didn't like walton coaching of lonzo ball. The spurs won't draft lamelo ball because they have point guards and popvich is not going to deal with drama lavar ball puts people through. The warriors aren't going draft lamelo because they have curry plus the junk lavar ball said lonzo better than curry 3 year when lonzo was on ucla team.

Might want to look into what happend with Big Baller Brand and the rif with his dad over it. Not sure about small market vs big but Lonzo and his pops are not the same.

We should draft the best prospect available at the place we will pick.
The rest is irrelevant as it will take years before it will matter at all.
We just need to collect the best assets we lucky to get.
I don’t want drama to keep the knicks drafting the BPA, but really looking at Lonzo it’s probably better LaMelo goes to a small market team to keep his father’s ego in check.
