One Republican briefed on the administration's coronavirus response told Vanity Fair that, as early as mid-January, advisers were sounding alarms, but "Jared kept saying the stock market would go down, and Trump wouldn’t get reelected." Another source said that on March 11, as the World Health Organization declared the outbreak officially a pandemic, Kushner still pushed Trump not to declare a national emergency, freeing vital funds and resources for states, because "it would tank the markets." The markets tanked soon after, and Trump was forced to declare a national emergency.

I'm not disputing whether or not Jared is a scumbag. His record is out there for you to draw your own conclusions. But this sounds more like a desperate administration searching for scapegoats. Now, all of sudden, this lightweight is calling all the shots?
South Korean infectious disease experts have downplayed concerns that patients could get reinfected with the new coronavirus after fully recovering. While hundreds in South Korea have tested positive again after their release from hospitals, Oh Myoung-don, who heads the country''s central clinical committee on new infectious diseases, told a news conference on Wednesday there was a “high possibility” that such test results were flawed.
He said South Korea''s standard real-time PCR tests, designed to amplify the genetic materials of the virus so that even tiny quantities are detected, doesn''t reliably distinguish between remains of dead virus and infectious particles. He said lab tests on animals suggest that COVID-19 patients would maintain immunity for at least a year after their infections.
He also said it was unlikely that the virus could be reactivated after remaining dormant when it doesn''t seem to be a type that causes chronic illnesses.

I like that it speeds up the recovery time by 4 days, so hopefully it will speed up hospital discharges and free up beds, but I'm a bit disappointed that it doesn't seem to improve the recovery/survival rate significantly. There was an initial study that showed almost all 120 people recovered- real shame that hasn't been replicated in this trial. Also I think this drug is administered via IV, we really need something that can be administered via a pill or spray, to really free up hospital beds

Within this clusterfuck of an administation its very very possible. Since responsibilites and heiarchy isn't based off of who is the most qualified, but based off of nepotism and loyalty to Trump. I think what they are alluding to is that Trump will listen to Jared more than anyone else. Trumps failure as a man cappable of leading and governing opens up that path. US germ warfare research leads to new early Covid-19 test
Exclusive: test has potential to identify carriers before they become infectious Scientists working for the US military have designed a new Covid-19 test that could potentially identify carriers before they become infectious and spread the disease, the Guardian has learned.
In what could be a significant breakthrough, project coordinators hope the blood-based test will be able to detect the virus’s presence as early as 24 hours after infection – before people show symptoms and several days before a carrier is considered capable of spreading it to other people. That is also around four days before current tests can detect the virus.
The test has emerged from a project set up by the US military’s Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (Darpa) aimed at rapid diagnosis of germ or chemical warfare poisoning. It was hurriedly repurposed when the pandemic broke out and the new test is expected to be put forward for emergency use approval (EUA) by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) within a week.
“The concept fills a diagnostic gap worldwide,” the head of Darpa’s biological technologies office, Dr Brad Ringeisen, told the Guardian, since it should also fill in testing gaps at later stages of the infection. If given FDA approval, he said, it had the potential to be “absolutely a gamechanger”.
If it works, that would be vital for airport travel (people get the test before boarding, and when arriving), could make sports a possibility, could even do it at certain workplaces. This is crucial while we wait on a treatment or vaccine.

Time. It's still out there, but we look it as just another strain of influenza. As for China's role in failing to control this from the start...that remains to be seen. That said, it still doesn't excuse the fact that our glorious orange leader was alerted of the severity of this thing, ignored the advice of his experts, continued to sit on his hands and lied to the American people.

Going back to NotInMyHouse and his video of two doctors on YouTube. Their video has been decried by the American College of Emergency Physicians and the American Academy of Emergency Medicine. They've also been deleted from YouTube for advocating false information. They basically reiterate what myself and a lot of people on here were saying as well in response to them. There's more info at the link as well but here's the statement.
The American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) and the American Academy of Emergency Medicine (AAEM) jointly and emphatically condemn the recent opinions released by Dr. Daniel Erickson and Dr. Artin Massihi. These reckless and untested musings do not speak for medical societies and are inconsistent with current science and epidemiology regarding COVID-19. As owners of local urgent care clinics, it appears these two individuals are releasing biased, non-peer reviewed data to advance their personal financial interests without regard for the public’s health.
COVID-19 misinformation is widespread and dangerous. Members of ACEP and AAEM are first-hand witnesses to the human toll that COVID-19 is taking on our communities. ACEP and AAEM strongly advise against using any statements of Drs. Erickson and Massihi as a basis for policy and decision making.
