And just in case this year wasn't fun enough
I think life as we know it will not be the same for quite some time. It’s horrible

Being in a part of NYS way far away from NYC, we have experienced the progression (return to norm) quite nicely, and about 3+ weeks ago I was newly optimistic about schools opening in Sept and life getting back to semi norm. I think we are in a little bit of a North East bubble (Mass, CT, NY, NJ and maybe a little surrounding). Reading about increased spread in places like CA and Washington state is concerning, I thought they had a good plan early and it looks like it was too fast.
The one advantage the EU has over the US is that they can close borders between countries in a way states in the US cannot, limiting obvious travel. They also have better socialization plans for health and monthly paychecks from govt.
At this point we may be in the pee in pool point of this recovery: it don't matter that we are in the adult end of the pool, kids peeing in their end will still travel over.
Masks got to be mandatory for all states for any type of shared indoor activity. Contact tracing has to be nationalized and coordinated at that level. Fed has to fund states so that we can keep mortgages, rent, etc afloat, people need either day care or to be able to work from home otherwise unemployment and homelessness (people getting kicked out of apartments) gonna skyrocket in Aug.
There is no Fed coordination at this point, Trump gave up. Some team may still be there but they are ineffective and tamped down by Trump's reelection priority.
It's a disgrace. US is up there with Brazil and India as the world's worst offenders (and they at least have overcrowding and some other unique country characteristics).
Everyone does realize the country as a whole is nearing a breaking point of no return? I don't know exactly what that means but if we can't tamp down the spread in the stupid states, we are in for a haul.
Need evidence of stupid states:
S. Dakota Gov. Noem says 'we will not be social distancing' at July 3 celebration with Trump at Mount Rushmore
Thousands of people are expected for the event. Masks are optional, too.

Just looked up Noem's entry on Wikipedia. Won't say she's overtly corrupt, but she straddle the line tighter than Blac Chyna in he stripper days.
In April we peeked at 30+K and then started to trend down until early June, we are now at 40K per day. Right now we have total 2.5M cases in 4 months, roughly 500K a month right now. 100K per day....
This dr fauci guy has been part of the problem If he is the lead guy. He simply says we must keep on a lockdown everywhere. He doesn’t that. He’s more of a Monday morning qb. I haven’t heard anyone say that we should stay locked down and it really is the medical communities headline issue. If they were adamant -/ there would be no questioning. The whole f country is headed for disaster and there is a ton of f king blame to do around.
The U S the way it’s set up has almost no chance versus pandemic. So many different views so many different cities states it’s a cluster f k of disaster.
If I was President I’d say mandatory 21 day lock down again for everyone. When it’s over if u do t wear a mask in public u go to jail for a year. That’s it

he says that and then he is fired cause Trump wants economy open and then what? And BTW Pence is running the corona task force, how did you miss that?
I mean I get it but life ain't black and white and we should all recognize it. Fauci and others NEED to be more vocal and actually speak their minds but we know what the consequence would be, right?
Easy to see that Brix, Fauci and others have swallowed their pride cause they think it's better to operate from the inside, for better or worse. Right now it's worse.

We have an incompetent president. It starts there.

21 day lockdown means economy halts. Which means you need to pass another stimulus for individuals and help states out with extra $$. Means you need to raise taxes.
You think the Republicans are down for this?

They aren’t. There will be a second package but people sure aren’t getting $600 a week again.
Florida hiding something?
