A bit late, but I watched " The Queen's Gambit". Liked that as well. Didnt know it was Ana Taylor Joy in the lead until the last episode. Must have been the red hair lol.

Also started watching the first season of "The rings of Power." Enjoying it. The series has an epic feel. More than "Game of Thrones". Couldnt get into the prequel.

I was about to give up on ROP, but the last episode gave me hope. Still meh on it. I've been on the Ana Taylor Joy train for a while. Even saw the New Mutants, which really sucked. I dont hold against Ana or Arya Stark tho. They did everything they could.

I liked the Finale. Its LOTR in a different format so I wasnt expecting the show to be like one long quest. Too many different storylines. You arent alone in feeling this way though, but Im enjoying it.

Started watching "Peaky Blinders" close to using the subtitles lol.

Peaky Binders is up there with Snowfall as shows I'm watching, but I can't really rush through and binge because they have so many moving plot points that are easy to miss. And also, I can't really understand what they're saying in Peaky Blinders if I rush through the episode.

I keep meaning to start Peaky Blinders. Help convince me one way or the other.

No Jessica Alba, but Anya Taylor Joy makes an appearance. Tom Hardy also has a stretch. I haven't made it that far but I hear he's good. Oppenheimer is a tour de force, just chewing up scenes. Really good actor who's able to power through, even through some of the more stupider scenes. But a good watch if you're a fan of Guy Ritchie 's earlier gangster movies.

I could watch the The Gentlemen all day

Was saying I like his films pre and post Madonna for the most part, especially the gangster ones. But you're right, its hard to top the early gangster films.

Watched "Extraction" 1 and 2. It was written by the Russo brothers from the Avengers films. Really enjoyed it. The action sequences, fight choreography, combined with great cinematography, makes for a lot of fun. Looking forward to the next one.

On the 3rd season of "Peaky Blinders" Like a Brit version of "The Sopranos" Good stuff.
BigDaddyG @ 9/14/2024 10:44 PM
I started watching Industry and I'm beginning season 2. Solid writing and acting but it's a tough watch. You watch several characters slowly self destruct and it's excruciating. I'm flipping between that Snowfall. Both shows do a good job of eliciting sympathy for characters who really don't deserve it.

Peaky was great.
Board Walk Empire was an excellent long form series by Martin Scorsese.

Nalod got in three days at the office and on Friday afternoon im on the phone with my brother and im like "Fuck, Im feverish".
Bought home some good Viking Covid from Iceland! Im gratful it was AFTER my trip!
My fever is down but the Plaxovoid is pretty nasty stuff itself.
My first bout with Covid. I was due to get my roster this week. I have had it pass thru me a few times but never tested positive.
mrs. Nalod had it twice.

WE been watching "Slow Horses" on Apple TV. Gary Oldman is great here.

Catlin Clark is serving up a lot of crow thru her rookie campaign.
Ms. Swoops and others looking really stupid. Clark is also going to help the girls get paid.
She came in with hype which bugged out star players thinking the accolades were because she was white.
It was because she stayed in school and broke records.
Bottom line is she came in and has lead her team. The assist totals are important.
Aja Wilson is still the MVP this year, but Clark should get votes. She has also taken a beating.

Awesome series.

Just finished season 4. The only letdown was Adrian Brody’s Don Corleone wannabe accent. Surprised the producers wanted him to go that route.

I didn't mind it. I also really liked Tom Hardy here. However, I like him in anything he does.

Honestly, I think it's just women being women. I was brave enough to say that here because I think the last woman in this site was Saramae. 🤓

Yeah, that's the thing when you bring in guys like that. If you bring Adrien Brody and he tells you what direction he wants to go, you can't really tell him no.

Agree about Hardy, he was pretty damned funny in it.

I see your point. Brody is a first rate actor, surprised he wanted to go that route. If he hadn’t made his voice so raspy..
