Mostly they feel a bit mushy also and not supportive. Color is subjective but I tend to not go with a loud color like orange/lime/yello unless its greatly on sale and for workouts mostly.

"interviews"? I'd go low key color for a more neutral impression in any interaction that is important to my work or image. Really depends on your age, occupation and environment. Again, its subjective.

Those Hoka soles border on ridiculous.

But I bet they are comfortable.

10 pairs, Nalod? That seems excessive. Although I have you beat.

One thing I like about Brooks is the heel cushioning never seems to bunch up. I can only speak for the Glycerin though.

Maybe I'll use these orange ones if I ever interview with Crayola.

Old age is catching up. Plantar fasciitis is a bitch. These Hokas feel great.

Some shows on Netflix..

Watched the first season of "Supacell", set in London. Its about Black superheroes. The first couple of episodes kind of dragged, but the momentum builds after that. Fun series, there is going to be a second season.

Also finished watching "Culinary Class Wars". I got tired of watching cooking competitions, my favorites were "Iron Chef" Japan/USA, and "BBQ Pitmasters".

This is a Korean cooking show, the biggest budget competition Ive ever watched. Its a competition between 100 chefs. Divided 80/20 between "Black spoons'and "White spoons". The white spoons are the elite, some Michelin starred. Its 12 episodes to get to the finals. It features Eastern and Western cuisine. But Korean cuisine is featured prominently. Made me order some Korean cookbooks. Also a fun series.

New BB.

If you want to spoil your dogs, one of the best things I've recently discovered, and highly recommend.

My dogs go nuts when they see me filling these things. Treats, kibble, pumpkin, peanut butter, banana, etc.

1000x easier to clean than Kongs.

Naturally I bought the orange and blue.

Binged 'Monsters: Lyle and Erik Menendez Story' over the weekend and thought it was good.

These guys deserve to be freed.

I'm a little late to this but what was everyone's take on 3 Body Problem? Worth it?

Looks like its going to happen. Will have to check it out.

Another Netflix show I finished watching is "Blue Eye Samurai" its an American Anime set in Japan. Fun and bloody, they renewed it for a secomd season, but it sounds like its a few years away.

Another series I just finished is "Silo" on AppleTV with Rebecca Ferguson. Its a city underground that survived a nuclear war. She is the Sheriff who tries to unravel a big mystery. Builds momentum as the series progresses, 2nd season starts in November.

Also the second season of " The Old Man" with Jeff Bridges on FX is really good. And "Penguin" is still great". Supposed to be a limited series, hope they bring it back for another season.
BigDaddyG @ 10/27/2024 10:08 PM
Another banger Penguin episode. Confirmed: Sophia Gigante definitely on some step on me mommy sh*t. Also, shocker to find out the chick who plays the madame/Oz's girlfriend is a Brit in real life
Nalod @ 10/28/2024 7:37 AM
Been watching the Penguin and its a bit predictable but done very well. Looks expensive to produce and assume its pulling in ratings.
Im not sure how far they should go. So we get 8 hours of the story and at some point we assume he gets to prominence/Power to go against Batman.
Do they tie him into a Batman movie at some point? Second season become formulaic were he deals with Riddler? Other villians?

Pennyworth, the story of Alfred Pennyworth, better known as Bruce Waynes butler started off good then became stupid and badly done.
Is Gotham worth doing?

I think Matt Reeves said he wanted to focus on other aspects of Gotham if he did another TV series. Also, I'm not sure how keen Colin is on returning to the fat suit. But money talks in the end. Personally, I like the idea of one offs. The Penguin is good, but I think one season is the sweet spot

I just realized this thread is weak and has terrible posture. This should help.

Saw an animated film called " The Secret of Nimh " this morning. What a great movie. Amazed I didn't see it when I was younger, it's from 1982.
GustavBahler @ 11/5/2024 7:47 PM
Been spending tbe last few weeks binge watching "Yellowstone". The promos made it look like a soap opera, so I wasnt interested. But its like a cross between "Dallas" and "The Sopranos".

Watching season 5. The writing is really good. I can see why Taylor Sheridan has gotten so many other shows greenlit. The ratings help of course.

I decided to watch it after Tony Kornheiser on PTI admitted that he was a fan of the show. I figured if a veteran writer from NY likes it, its worth checking out.

Looking forward to watching the last few episodes starting next week

I have wanted to transport myself to the comfort of when I was 12-14 years old, when things were worry free. Politics, health problems, and state of the world and I just watched the first season of " Voltron:Defender of the Universe ". Good times and cuddled with my wife watching it. She hates the cartoon but did it for me
. Anyone else watched Voltron ?

Me and a friend decided to watch Voltron (the original American series) for kicks and giggles one night while pre gaming before the club. It made absolutely no sense. 😂 It was a different series altogether in Japan and it was cut to better fit the sensibilities of American children. Different from Transformers, who was an actual American-Japanese co-production.

When I was 13 me and the other kids ran home after being dismissed at 3 to see the show at 330. There was no VCR or streaming and for me at 13 Voltron was a priority. Who cares if it made sense. Like do you watch porn for the character arcs ? It was good defeating evil every episode. What more does a 13 year old need ? Especially in 1980s NYC.

G Force is another one doesn't make sense, at least stateside. The alien leader is a friggin hermaphrodite and they don't explain it all. Imagine being a grade schooler and trying to figure that shit out. Also a lot of breaks into the original story in order to make the story more palatable to American children. I watched an OVA that slightly updated the original story and I can say, the original story is kinda batshit.

GI Joe, Transformers, Spider Man and His Amazing Friends, and X-Men also were joy bringers to my younger self. No matter what Big Daddy says.
