Haliburton is a very good spot up shooter and is an excellent fit if the plan is give Barrett some playmaking responsibilities.

Julius, if directed, could become a valuable piece. He hits the short jumper and goes to the hole strong. Everything depends on where he receives the ball. Coming over the half court line? Recipe for disaster. Cutting to the hole or in the paint? Much better results. 19 points and 9 rebounds is not numbers to skin your nose at. This is a rebuild, let's slow down and see what we're working with.

I 100% give him credit for being a beast on the boards. My issue with him is his court awareness and the fact that he forces himself to turn into a 1v5 player no matter where or how he touches the ball.

A lot is going to depend on who the coach is and who's distributing the ball. If we keep Payton, his first instinct is to defer to Julius. New players will produce different results.

Love Lewis's potential. He's not quite as good but he reminds me of Fox when he was @ Kentucky. If we don't land a pg with our first pick, I'm hopeful that Lewis is still available with the pick we got from the Clips.

Maledon is a tough one. Great physical tools, but he's like Frank. He needs time. Physically, I like Theo over Killian. But Killian's handle, passing and timing are superior right now. Lewis and Maxey are more combo guards at this point, but I'm real impressed with the way Lewis attacks. Almost like Sexton. Just needs to be harnessed.

Half the reason I like Haliburton the most for our pick is your starting to see the youth (Frank, Knox, Mitch, and RJ) begin to develop and would like to see that continue next year. Taking on a project freshmen is taking someone behind the curve, unless their talent/ceiling was undeniable. It feels like a step back, sort of like DSJ who I think can still develop, but he’s fallen behind the rest of the class. Guys like Haliburton, both Beys, (who are all sophmores). Are already showing strong signs they can produce and could hopefully come here and be up to snuff with the current youth and see playing time early.

Agree with that. Said a couple of months back that is what I hoped the Knicks do. Meaning trade down. Bey was also my pick as he is a very good shooter. May be the best in the draft. I think Nesmith is good. Prefer Maledon from France. Has Parker influences. High motor. Minnesota would be a good team to trade down with, They will take Ball with top 3 pick. So giving them our pick won't affect our chances at getting a decent point guard with a teen pick. Do not think Anthony or anyone else at PG is worth a top ten pick. Will be interesting to see what happens. And where we fall.

Most people here are not really giving an opinion on who the best PG prospect is in this draft. I guess no one wants to be on the record. IMO Ball's handle and ability to create offense is superior to any other PG in this draft. Now you can argue that that his defense is suspect, and I will concede that point, but in my view, it is more a product of him being a skinny 18 year old more than a lack of ability. His brother is a decent defender. I would anticipate that Ball should be able to develop himself into at least an average defender too. But on offense, his upside is unbelievable. When Lonzo Ball got drafted, I was looking at highlights of LaMelo Ball in school and was thinking that he looked better than Lonzo. If we get the second or third pick, we have to take Ball. The other guy I like is Hayes because he is a solid looking shooter with good overall pg skills, but he looks like only a so-so athlete. I would only look at Hayes if we get picks 6-9. Haliburton also looks solid, but is he really going to be that much better than Frank will be in two years and he seems like he suffers from Frank's lack of creativity with the ball in the sense that I don't see Haliburton getting to the line alot. Anthony is solid but I am not sure if he is a PG. The reviews I have looked at say that he actually is a solid passer but his teammates were bad on the UNC team. ANthony certainly took alot of bad shots but that also might be due to the lack of talent around him. Other than Hayes, Anthony would be the other guy I would consider in the 6-9 range. If he can get his shot selection right, which should come with experience, he has upside on offense and he is a solid defender. Anthony looks like what we hoped DSJr would be.

I would rank them:

1. Lamelo Ball
2. Hayes/Anthony (toss up as to who is better)
3. Haliburton

I think Ball has the potential to be the piece that ties everything together, the whole youth movement. He will take a bit of time to work out kinks in his game, but I think he will. He has the ability to join all the young pieces, and all their specific talents, and add an identity that the Knicks can grow with. There is no other player in this draft who you can say that about. I would aggressively trade up to take LaMelo Ball.

I think we can get two Pgs at 27-38 and both can be good. We already have frank. We need other slots.

I would take Payton Pritchard at 27 if he’s there abd be thrilled. I think he’s the best team Pg in the draft. Many of these guys are skinny. Like van fleet Pritchard weighs 205 at 6-2. He’s got every many of the excellent characteristics u want in a pg.

I would love the idea of a starting lineup of Frank/Ball/RJ with Ball being your main facilitator, Frank being the lockdown guy and RJ the scorer. All 3 have very good passing abilities and all are ball movers.

Every one of them would need to up their 3point shooting.

My PG priorities are one of Ball, Hayes, Cole, Lewis jr. In no order as I see all of them having their respective weaknesses. If miss on them I pray we go after VanVleet hard.
