I was not on board with that one— I think we were hyped in on a pre draft workout. BUT I was pleasantly and happily surprised when I saw him in the Summer League. He wasn’t great at anything at Kentucky but he really looked like a great potential piece in that league. He was engaged he was versatile he was aggressive and we looked like we got a helluva steal. But other than some minor flashes he’s a guy who stands around too much doesn’t seem to have feel for the Nba Game doesn’t shoot it effectively doesn’t even run the floor hard. Nothing special defensively just a pure blah player. Sometimes players just don’t fit. He doesn’t check the box from 3 so it’s hard to spot him in the line up. It’s as he’s in between nba positions with less than efficient nba skills.I think he can improve but how much- cuz he’s got a long way to go. A big prob with Knicks — the draft picks we have made haven’t pushed their games or maybe they can’t? Maybe they need a new pg but won’t a player who’s good simply be a good player no matter who’s running the ship?
I almost thought I saw a guy who Initiates offense in SL. Was he given this chance in the nba? Do our coaches play him incorrectly? When I look at the heat. Their rookies tend to be good right away EVERY pick they make. Maybe we need to focus more on game play while drafting— and how a player fits. But as far as Kevin Knox. I’m inclined to look around for something else if I can get value. And if not give him one lady chance to prove it this year

You're not going to get anything for him, and we don't need to clear any cap space, so you may as well keep him and see if he improves. It's weird, when I first saw a video of him before that draft, he looked awful. Then I saw a video where he looked very promising. That's how he's looked a s a Knick- awful at times and then (unfortunately not often) looks like he could be good.

I say keep him. The organization has done a terrible job developing him when he was drafted as a developmental project. The improvements he made on defense shows he can improve. Just play him more

I’m inclined to put Knox in the same category as Frankie. One more year to really prove they belong and must show significant improvements in their respective shortcomings ( ie Frankie offence ). You can argue lack of development, injuries etc. I just think the FO need to take a tougher stance regarding players that under perform. Fans can only be so patient.

Was never a fan and had been wanting to dump him for most of the past two seasons. Given that he's not worth much and sometimes things seem to click for 3rd year guys - ok to hold on to him for one more season. That said, if another team wants him I'll help him pack... Hate the standing around, low motor and inconsistent effort.

He's still a kid. There's really no need to come to a decision at this point. If a deal comes along that improves us, than trade him. I feel that way about all our players, including RJ. But I more intigued by Knox's upside than the potential of future second round pick a year or two down the line.

This is a remnant of the Fizdale era. he resisted sending players to the G League, thinking that they would learn his "system" in practice and by watching the game by his side. No such luck.

Knox is only 20. He was 18 when he was drafted. If you draft an 18 yr old you do so planning on developing him over a few years. The Knicks have not done well by him in regards to development. He is reported to be one of if not the hardest worker on the team by the coaching staff. I don't understand the want or need to trade kids that you draft that need 3-4 years development before they start to resemble the nba player they could be.
Knicks brass is also encouraged because it considers Knox arguably the team’s hardest worker. Pre-shutdown, Knox would come to the Tarrytown campus at night to get extra shots up.
Absolutely keep him. Some people love to sell low.

His value as an asset is pretty low at this point. If team building is getting a second rounder or including him in a CP3 trade I think the Knicks are better off keeping him. He has had two coaches and the point guards he has played with are Mudiay, DSJ, Frank, Kadeem and Payton. Nothing really has been done in away that would help a guy as young as Knox develop.

There are a whole lotta "shoulda's" with this team. Yeah, I wish he was brought along slowly too. I'm not sure if it hurt him mentally, his game, etc. With his higher minutes he probably habituated some bad habits. With such a young guy, you really don't want to do that. He has shown more than enough glimpses. I think this will be a really big year for the kid. Hopefully the team grows closer and plays well together and he finds his game. Do have to say, when Knox was hitting his shot at a good clip, it just looks so smooth, so wet. I want to see a PG that can create for him. I like Frank though, but I would love a PG that could be more proactive with setting up teamates. Maybe Frank can do that consistently and be more aggressive (He is still very young.) He had been showing some of that, so we can hope.
Really looking forward to the season.

Knox is young and his body is still developing. What I saw this last season was improvement on defense and better focus. Once we get a better pg and once Knox fills out a little more, he should be a decent 3/4. He has a lot of work to do but it is way to soon to dump him unless a team was offering something good, like a first round pick or solid prospect at the 1 or 3.

Ah. Payton actually is a decent pg. Blaming his play ( Knox)on the pg position is somewhat weak no? He could’ve played harder and smarter himself
