With NBA is set to resume a season for playoff bound teams.
Those not making the playoffs won't come back.
The Knicks played more games than some other losing teams in the draft.
Does the NBA cancel the Knicks' last 2 wins and award the Knicks a higher draft position???
Cavs 19-46 = 65 (games played)
Timberwolves 19-45 = 64 (games played)
Knicks 21-45 = 66 (games played)
Warriors 15-50 = 65 (games played)
Hawks 20 20-47 67 games played
Suns 26-39 = 65 games played
For example: The Knicks played more games than other teams competing for the number 3-6 worst record draft "odds" spots.
So same odds as last year, wonder if they will roll back some games to make it fairer
EDIT: sorry I got confused by the tweet saying “new rules”, they actually meant they were new last year
I’ve been thinking about this. I think they need to roll it back 3 games for it to be fair which would put the Knicks for a three way tie for 3rd place.
If they go by winning percentage the Knicks will get screwed again

That seems the fairest way to me
Who plays in this 8 game season? All 22 teams or just the ones competing for the 6th-8th seeds?
https://www.foxsports.com/nba/story/nba-...The 22 teams
There are currently 16 teams that qualify for the playoffs under the NBA’s traditional model of 8 teams from each conference. In the Eastern Conference, those teams are Milwaukee, Toronto, Boston, Miami, Indiana, Philadelphia, Brooklyn and Orlando. In the Western Conference, those teams are the LA Lakers, LA Clippers, Denver, Utah, Oklahoma City, Houston, Dallas and Memphis.
Joining those 16 teams will be five more teams from the West – Portland, New Orleans, Sacramento, San Antonio and Phoenix – and one extra team from the East – Washington. Each of these teams are within 6 games of the 8-spot in their respective conferences and will have an opportunity to play their way into the postseason.
Does this mean we are rooting for the Nyets? Either them or DJs team the Craptors.
Think about watching any sport with no other fans in attendance, it would feel like your watching a competitive practice.
why not just sell seats in sections (6 feet apart) for no more than groups of 3 people max at half capacity, and require or supply mask and hand sanitizers.

Not worth the risk- don't see how a 1/2 empty arena (you'd actually have to have a much smaller capacity than that to allow for social distancing- at least 3/4 empty) would make it any better than being empty. Plus those fans would be walking around the arena, the resort touching things, possibly interacting with workers etc etc.
Wonder if they'll try a few options- like could they digitally add a crowd for the TV broadcast? Will they try piped out crowd noise (with the 'home' team getting control of it) in the arena, or on broadcast? How big are the arena's in Disney anyways?

Valid questions.
I don't think people will be all that interested in watching

I think they'll be an initial curiosity/excitement, but then they might bomb like those H-O-R-S-E games. It'll be weird either way- lets hope it doesn't end up being boring! I do hope it works out though and no one gets sick. I wish they'd try out the 1-16 seeding (not split into conferences), but it looks like they're against that
That’s crazy, the finals teams will get less than a month off!
Boo! We should never have won that Hawks game!
The league offered dates beyond the July 31-Oct. 12 season window, with the draft lottery set on Aug. 25, the draft on Oct. 15 and the 2020-21 season likely beginning Dec. 1. Sources told ESPN that free agency could begin Oct. 18 with training camps starting Nov. 10.
Free agency begins October 18th
Hmm, the one to keep your eye on is the clips pick- if they flounder these 8 games or see them as rest games, their pick might end up being better for us!
How will these guys have ay time to move their families after free agency. Start the season in mid january roll it back 1 month to december in 2021-22. Plus wouldn't it make more sense to wait so you can have fans?

Which of the 21 wins out of 66 should we have not won? Just the last one? They all counted. Fact is if Fiz might have helped us get #6. This team really was a 30 -33 win team. Miller if coach from day one would have done better. I outlined that we went 4-7 and all teams below us were 3-7 except for Detroit who a was 1-9 over the last 10 games of the season. That we did well without Morris? That Mitch was improving, and even Knox was finding his way improving. Best stretch of games for Frank.

Any win vs a team you're vying for lottery positioning is a double hit (you pick up a win, they get an extra loss)- it's stupid to go hard for a win in those situations

Who ever thought that would have been the last game of the season.
Is it better to watch Frank, mitch and knox struggle and help lose games, would that make you more optimistic about their future.
The draft is loaded with role payers, not stars

What does that even mean? Franks game against Washington we lost but he had a career night. If you can't find enjoyment out of that its kinda sorry.
Funny you left RJ out. I liked watching Knox defense improve and his shorter strides going to the rim stronger.
Don't matter what we think, its up to Leon and his Professionals.
