Think something along the lines of Mitch, Gallinari, Melo, and RJ with either Chris Paul (via trade) or Jeff Teague (via short term FA deal) as a starting 5. The only other guaranteed rotation player as far as 22 and under will be our lottery pick. Knox and Ntilikina are completely up in the air at this point. So in a 9 man rotation we are likely looking at 3 or 4 guys 22 and under and 5 or 6 older vets.
We don’t even know if Mitch is worthy of starting yet.
Obviously we need to have quality depth at center but he was staying out of foul trouble later in the year and is obviously a starting caliber center.
In today's era of the NBA Starting caliber Centers have jump shots (and most can shoot 3's)or an array of post moves that draw double teams. Mitch is just an athletic shot blocker who can guard a few positions and dunk, and a pretty one dimensional offensive player.
You can't start him unless you have snipers all around him 1 thru 4 because all he does is sit in the paint, making it easy for defenders to guard him and anyone penetrating.
Also, PnR. Mitch will start next year.
take this for DATA
None of the Knicks’ most common pick-and-roll ball handlers were very efficient this season: Payton (28th percentile), Smith Jr. (2nd — eek! — percentile), Barrett (24th percentile) and Ntilikina (33rd percentile).
If we get thibs, i think we are going to focus on bringing in vets like Harrel, bartans, gasol
I dont think anyone is a lock to remain on this team..Mitch/randle/Rj are our blue chip trading pieces if they plan on trading for a star like Booker/CP3
if Thibs is the coach i have to imagine Mitch starts because he can anchor the D, and guard the perimeter. That will be enough. Beside who else would we bring in to top that?
I also imagine Frank will no longer be a pariah again because Thibs will value his D. not saying he will start but his D will be cherished and grow
could even imagine Morris coming back (mixed feelings about that)
DSJ, Randle, KK may need to polish their resume or ride pine

on the Knicks roster next season under Rose:“I think you are going to see a heavy veteran presence on the roster. It’s not like they are going to roll the ball out and have a bunch of 19, 20, 21 year olds in the rotation.”

Seems like a dumb statement to make.
RJ, Mitch are starters next year. Both 22 and under. High first round pick will be in the rotation. Knox, Frank, DJ on the roster right now. Pick #25 is incoming.
There will be a bunch of 20, 21, 22 year olds in the rotation.
Unless of course a few of those chips are traded. Which likely happens.
