Knicks · Zac LaVine in Leon Rose's radar (page 3)

sorry i just cannot see bringing in a player who is not a winner, and by this i mean the player who is so competitive that winning matters most -- do what the team needs, and the coach wants.extreme end of the spectrum is DSJ who sulks if he doesn't get minutes even when he sucks ass. And is ecstatic if he gets stats even if we lose.
Lavine and Wiggins are not far removed from that though. Hard pass. there's a reason he's being made available.
Then you have the issue of fit. He's not a 1 and has too many TOs. and if you use him at 2 you force RJ to play 3 and give up his inherent advantage of bullying 2sI know we're all desperate for talent but this is the NBA version of beer-goggles
ha I like that analogy

I don't think it's a good time to bring in a talented player who is USE to playing losing basketball.
It's why as much as i like LaVine i'd rather bring in someone like Gallinari even if he's older. We need culture changing players.I wouldn't mind bringing in vet guys like Gallo, Cp3, Harrel, Fleet, derozen, ibaka, Morris sr, Bogdan, Bartans, Melo..Those are thibs type of players
My pipe dream is De Aaron fox, he would fit perfectly with RJ in the back court
Amen. Your not alone, Fox has crazy two way game and can really shift in the open floor.
Gotta say I wouldn’t be too disappointed with FVV / Bertrands / ibaka.
CP3 injury and albatross of contract concerns. Derozen doesn’t shoot a high enough percentage. Morris/ Harrel / Bogdan meh...
Melo we need to let go...
Melo is just a legacy addition. You bring him in with a very specific role in mind, a stretch 4 who will spend most of his time spotting up. His iso days should be pretty much over. Agree about FVV, Bertans and Ibaka, all good options, all can shoot. Stay away from DeRozan for sure.
Based on what i have been seeing form melo, he's not trying to be the man, I think he is at the point in his career where he can accept not being the primary guy, i actually think he may welcome it.
Derozen can score, probably not the best fit with RJ, but definitely a nice vet to have around RJ.
All of the players i mention have quality skills that can mesh, not really looking at them as primary guys
And you can't even call him FatMelo anymore! (easy now, Nalod
)

Hey, we can all have our obsessions . Yours are Melo and Me. That’s Cool. Mine are frank and 1248. I dig that melo has change his career ending trajectory.
My take is not all Vets are benevolent to offer themselves as a teaching wise sage of a player. Some want to play! I’d rather see melo on a contending team chase a ring but with pride that he contributed. If he wants to be a knick, that’s ok too. Maybe he retires a Nugget and has a morning radio program with Georgie Karl....
“Mile High Mornings with Karl-Melo.......”

Knowing Karl, the first show would feature:
"...and this morning's special guest tagteam on Mile High is MauiWowie Phil and Mardeegras Collins..."
Melo: "WTF???"
