Knicks · KP is a beast (page 10)

He's a putz.

The longer the season goes the more his body will wear down. It happens every single year.

technomaster @ 8/23/2020 4:30 PM
I mean seriously, he played 57 games this season, including a 4 month break (after almost a 2 year layoff)... and held out of a game because of a sore knee?

It happens - he's hardly the only injured player.

But if he were a Knick, the fans and media would harp on how fragile he is - and we'd worry whether he'd be healthy enough during the playoffs after a season of wear and tear. (in that sense, he's a bit like Danilo Gallinari - in 12 seasons, he's only cracked 70 games 2x.)

Do you want to pay max to a player who's only good for 60 or so games per season?

He's a super player, no doubt, albeit with some holes in his game. It's odd, though - the Mavs really lost pretty much every time during the restart when he had a big game.

They win without him. Mavs success has zero to do with Porzingis. Swap him with any decent PF or center they are the same team

It could've been Steve Novak and we would've been talking how much we miss him, ignoring the fact that Luka even makes Maxi Kleiber look like a real rotation player.

Really? Mavs were 6-4 without Luka and KP as main scorer, so maybe they don't need Luka? It's just a one game bro

ESOMKnicks @ 8/24/2020 5:20 AM
The Mavs went 11-7 without Judas this season. Better winning percentage than their overall record for the season.

If this were still the Knicks, Judas would have been skewered by the faithful. Like we skewered Ewing back in the days.

Yeah, all the people wetting their pants over the KP trade are the same ones who booed when Phil drafted him.

I pull for ex-Knicks when they go to other teams -- I like it when Timmy Jr. has a good game. I hope Morris does well with the Clips. Trey Burke had a good game last night and I am happy for him! Even Carmelo I feel neutral on -- the two I am glad to see fail are KP and Noah. They betrayed the team and the fans. I cannot understand why a Knick fan would have anything but enmity for Putzingis.

You want to talk about betrayal, what did mills and perry do, who promised to change the culture and bring winning back to MSG.

Not 1, not 2, not 3, not 4, but 5 different players requested trades under mills

Kanter, Kuz, Melo, Kp, willy..you tell me what kind of culture is that to be proud of, and want to be part of.

Mills's failings are well known and obvious. Just because he did a lot of wrong does not justify the way Judas forced his exit. Kanter and Melo actually stayed true to the fans and exited with dignity. Willy had a real need to go to another place looking to get more playing time, his future in the league was at stake. Kuz? What happened to Kuz?

If Judas really cared about New York and the fans, he would have quietly completed his rehab, taken the qualifying offer, come back to the Knicks in the 2019-20 season, proven his worth and full recovery on the court, and signed a max deal with us this summer. Along the way this would have placed us in a better position to get quality FAs last summer. Maybe that way he also would have had Kyrie, KD, Klay or even Kawhi as his Knick teammates now.

Instead, he chose long term financial security from a team willing to take a risk on him while he was still rehabbing, plus a chance to play alongside the league's brightest young superstar. Smart choice for him? You bet! But still a betrayal of the Knicks fans.

That was not the point. But......

Kanter was a pending free agent making 14mm a year. He was not coming back. He got 5mm from Celtics.
Kuz wanted a trade? Don’t remember. He was traded out of the league. OKC Melo? Rocket Melo? HE was cooked here. It was time to move on. POint of the post above is a knick fan is happy to see him return to some of his old form. He obviously stared down Father Time and dealt with it. That and playing with two all star guards. Good for him.
Willy. Your really lamenting on Willy? We doubled our investment on him. We got two second round picks. He wanted out? I don’t remember. He got garbage minutes on Charlotte when Frank and Zeller got hurt. Last season I saw in person up close Randle destroy them. It was like Teen Randle was playing his little brothers nerf basketball in the bedroom. It was fun to watch. When Randle was use properly he was a beast. Good midrange shot. Issues are what plagued Amare with his handle when he slowed down. Randle is not Amare. This I know.

Mills was fired. Not sure it was for Free Willy or not.

Sucks KP was a petulant diva, wanted out, blew out his knee, and we traded him. Two Knick Presidents have paid the price. Wonder what Leon would have done?

Knicks delayed his extension to give team 10mm more to spend. Obviously he was in no position to “recruit” until he returned. As for the fans? Let’s be real, this is an entertainment business first and foremost. KP had a window he wanted to get his security. Knicks had a window to evaluate the situation and did not execute the trade when PHil had leverage to get a good deal. Phil sucked up to that moment and confidence was lost in him.

Rainman, how many times can we fire Mills to satisfy your bloodlust for him? LOL

beyond silly. KP is an impact player. He's young but one of the most talented guys in the league. But yea... give the Mavs Julius Randle and they are the same team. Or Clarence Weatherspoon

Something is fishy going on with the mavs and kp sitting out 2 playoffs game in a row with a sore knee. I think he tore something his knee like mcl because rick carlie he couldn't release hippa on kp injury. I am just saying something is up with mavs and kp situation with his knee.
