Knicks · would you guys trade mitch? (page 1)

bored at work so been looking round, someone mentioned mitch plus 8 to gs for the second and their second rounder, so we would move up still have 27 and 38 and i think 48 and 51 from golden state.

Its not the draft class I want to trade up for and loose Mitch, this is a draft with no consensus top 3 pick. Next year's draft is loaded, then and maybe then if mitch doesn't improves alot, maybe the FO can consider it

8 and Mitch for 2 is crazy. Mitch probably goes #4 in this draft class alone. And since there's no given franchise player, can't lose 2 lottery pieces for #2.

I wouldn't trade him simply because he's the best contract value we have ever had... add his potential to continue improving and we could end up giving away a top 5 center who is grossly underpaid. Then we would all start talking about looking at Embiid at his salary because we need a center again. Mitch > Embiid due to his contract value alone.

Yeah, nobody is trading Mitch for a pick in this draft. That's a masochist thought.

umm. no.
franco12 @ 8/26/2020 1:25 PM
the only reason I would trade Mitch is the same reason as a Met fan I now want to trade DeGrom- and that would be to send him to a better franchise so his best years aren't wasted!

So - at this stage, no. I don't see any trade that makes sense to move Mitch given his contract, his upside.

The one criticism that maybe you could make of Mitch is he doesn't live and die basketball like some players do. But, I think that is ok.

jrodmc @ 8/26/2020 1:35 PM
Trade a project with known upside for another French PG project? And even if he fell to 2, I'm not on the LaMelo train. Pass.

Plus I saw recently where Mitch is training to be the next Iverson...

personally I'd like to see our team intact as much as possbile with our new coach and staff. Really. Even Dennis.
If we are to elevate our talent base it has to being internally. From there better trades can be made and Free agents attracted.
That is not the likely relality but iTs all I got for now.
