I didnt think we executed really well on the KP trade at the time but its surely worked out for us. More important has been SINCE the KP trade the team has been managed really well. We have drafted really well, coached guys up and signed nothing but useful players

Scott Perry. The man is a pretty good GM.

KPs collapse as a defensive force has been spectacular- is it just a blip due to recovering from surgery/ bad back or part of a terminal decline?
(Though ‘every team’ is a bit of an exaggeration, he’s only been on two😂)

Perry pushing his narrative through the media again? Who is this "agent", Leon's son.

We are petty though so we all love this. The porzingis stuff was just such a bad breakup for the team and fanbase. We completely loved the guy when he was a young player and really hungry and likeable. He got injured and seemed to spend too much time off the floor building a bad ego and bad habits. He turned into such an unlikeable player. It's too bad when those things happen.

That's why you always have to wonder when a team is eager to jettison one of these "superstars." I'm over KP and I wish him well in the future. But the Knicks were already lining up trades before KP asked out. Maybe the Dallas rumors are BS, but they aren't out of the realm of possibility.

Phil was prepared to give him up after year 2. There is something wrong going on in KP's camp so I'm more than inclined to believe that it is starting resurface even if its just rumors.

I am so petty when it comes to basketball- vendettas, imagined grievances, eternal grudges over the most minor of infractions (how I used to hate Thunder Dan and Tim Hardaway Sr) , its all part of the fun
Read the comments. You'll hurt yourself laughing.

Absolutely. The Douchezingis Brothers, all super friends teams esp now the Nets, LaBronna and so on -- enjoying any fails has been a substantial aspect of my rooting interest. Now that the Knicks appear to be on a true upswing, perhaps this pettiness will fade.
Nah.

Yao Ming?
Put some respect on Yao Ming’s name. KP wishes he was Yao Ming at this point in his career. Also Yao had played multiple 82 games seasons before injuries caught up. KP is playing like late career Mao way earlier in his career.
Thinking more about their similar frame, height. Walton was a more traditional big, and he was more skilled than both of them. Wasnt a fan of his as a broadcaster though.
First off, KP's a really, really rich man's Sam Bowie. Walton was light years ahead of KP or Yao as far as making those around him better. Turned out to be just as brittle, in his own way.
Definite dickhead as a broadcaster though.
His rookie year, KP could guard 1 through 5 like Simmons is bragging about now. He could also take guards off the dribble. Drain 3s like a specialist.
Whatever the player Porzingis is now, at one time he was the real deal. Injuries, and really bad advice from his brother, got him to where he is now. Some of it was out of his control, some of it wasnt.
Dont get me wrong, I laughed at the "poor man's" jokes as well. They were funny. At the same time, KP had skills that most players his height dont have.
Thanks to Perry and his negotiating skills, we got Randle, and Quickley. To make up for the loss of KP. And we still have more "goodies" coming our way. No reason to do anything IMO but wish him the best.
Oh and...... Go BUCS!! 2020 World Champeens!!
With all of our cap space and assets, could we get him back in a trade, let’s say, for Mitch, Frank, and some draft picks?

We’d be insane to make any deal for him. His lack of defense this year would be horrible
We don’t act like a base who is “over KP”. WE rather enjoying this. Its human nature.
I remember when my obsessive 1248 blamed Mills for KP’s soured relationship with Knicks. Perhaps there is just a tad more validity that it was his camp. Not saying to defend Mills. Results speak for themselves. We are all accountable. And we as UK fans accountable to each other!
At the end of the day its all “regrettable”. To see a Unicorn turn so ugly so fast is just a damn shame. He could have transcended the game to another level with that height and shooting skill. His ball instincts were fantastic and hustled. Remember he damn near broke his ankle vs Milwaukee going out of bounds to save a ball. He’d block shots and recover with great instinct. Damn shame he got hurt and turned to the dark side in his persona.

Dark side of his persona.....the guy is a prick....Phil saw that and potential injury concerns and wanted to sell high...if Boston of PHX gave into Phil’s demands we would maybe been on a different trajectory as a franchise....Yes we have gotten hammered by the pundits but that trade would have been the classic “see around the corner move”
