Knicks · Knicks really need to seriously consider Aaron Nesmith (page 2)

If Allan Houston played in today’s nba he would be a superstar

With a near 7 foot wingspan he’ll be more than a very decent defender and finally we’ll have one of the better 3 point shooters in the nba

Don’t discount look at the best teams — look at golden state
This guy makes Barrett and Robinson better

Why is he 13 highest on most mock draft boards? I love his skill-set too and I want the Knicks to draft him but you’d think people would have him going much higher.

He missed a lot of last season. If he played the entire season shooting like that he’s a top 5 pick

These shooter types never go up high in the draft

Look at Middleton and Redd. 2 Nd rounders
Klay Thompson Allan Houston. Late lottery
But they have higher values
Don’t buy into reaching.

Which is wierd considering how much the nba is all about shooting now

I don’t know how people are watching the playoffs abd not seeing this guy — how he would fit. It’s a no brainer

Aaron Nesmith sg pick 8

My likely everyone is watching and seeing the playoffs, so the upcoming draft will turn into a complete "let's get the shooters" mania. So Neismith and Vassel might be gone before 8, and we get to pick among the bricklaying Balls.

I have been gung ho about picking a shooter for the Knicks, but following manias is a bad idea, lots of bad decisions will be made at the draft and the FA signings when people start chasing shooters at all costs.

There is no pure shooter going before 8.

His 52% from 3 was before SEC play and against weaker competition. The season before, he played 32 games and shot 34% from 3. If he played the entire season, his 3pt fg% dips tremendously. He's still one of the top shooters in the draft but I doubt he's a top 5 pick.

Nesmith may be all that Briggs says he is

But for full disclosure Briggs has had love affairs with

Allen Crabbe
Seth Curry
Bryn Forbes

I'm sure i'm missing some. That said, there have been some spectacular talents, shooters picked at our slot and later for whatever reason

All good second rounders?

I would not pick Nesmith as just a three point shooter — he’s more than that. He’s an nba scorer

Denzel Valentine!! Lol

Hey, Nesmith has as good a chance at becoming a star as any of them. Still question his first year of play, the lack of competition and the limited sample in which he shot for a high percentage. But just don't see him as someone that will create and put pressure on the defense. More of a stand in the corner and wait for a pass ty[e. Reason why I would prefer Vassell or Okoro. Maybe even Hayes or Haliburton. Also like Onyeka. All guys that fit the combo NBA profile of todays NBA.

The guessing game continues.

Vassel and nesmith probably can shoot about the same percentage from 3. They both struggle creating off the dribble. nesmith is more likely to draw more fouls. Vassel tends to shy away from contact at the rim because of his light weight. Nesmith has the ready to go size and weight. Vassel is the better team and man defender and would create more turnovers.

Nesmith is more likely to produce a 20 point game

Vassell is likely to give you 12-14 points while adding more points on the board with his defensive intangibles.

Vassel is a good running mate with RJ. Same height. Interchangeable and he can score in transition with RJ.

I don’t think we can go wrong with either one.

The question is which one will develop a better handle, score on 3 level and turn into a 18-20ppg player?

xblvdels3 @ 9/18/2020 6:15 PM
I think if toppin or Hayes falls
to 8 they would take them.

Without any crazy trades for old pgs with huge contracts I think this is what they are thinking.

Toppin or Hayes tier 1

Vassel okoro nesmith tier 2. (Depends on the workout and communication between them)

Patrick Williams or Cole tier 3

Surprise- poku or Kira or they have a thing for Cole.

Draft night if toppin or Hayes doesn’t fall eliminate them. (No Haliburton)

Then they will go on the workout between tier 2

If not impressed by the workout of tier 2 and desire a pg they will go to tier 3/the surprise- poku or kira or Cole

Last option trade down. This occurs if they get fancy with trades and choose 10-20

In conclusion if no trades are made we have to put our faith in the scouts and decision makers who will actually get to see their workout.

The most likely outcome (Knicks being Knicks)

We trade or move 85 percent of the team And pick up cp3 or another big name player.

I don't have the skills to search but IIRC you were ready to open the vault for Crabbe (kind of like C.Wood now). and you also wanted to go big on Seth Curry

Don’t forget Solomon Hill.

Joking aside, I wouldn't mind signing Denzel and giving him a look the same way they did with Vonleh. Another lottery scratch off to take a chance on. I'd rather keep Dot, but I have no idea how that situation will go.

Vassell is going to be the better defender. Nesmith might have more upside offensively but who knows

I would go Vassell but if he’s not there Nesmith is my guy at 8
