Smoother and more importantly, he looks comfortable.
It was filmed from a weird angle, hard for me to tell. Was no doubt in my mind that Barrett was going to put in the work. Part of what makes RJ a foundational player. Always working at getting better.
Just happy seeing him work with the coach from utah. Hopefully they continue this even after the bubble training

I see what you mean. It’s not that “hand in the cookie jar” type follow thru but the release is smooth with great arc and the follow thru is still there nonetheless. If he really becomes consistent than sky is the limit for him.

Does it really look that different from this vid from last summer? He still seems to rotate his hand out after the release. It could just be his body mechanics and where his shoulders/elbows/wrists naturally roll. The "easy" area to improve is making his footwork more consistent from shot to shot.
But it's not like he didn't make any 3's last year.
For what it's worth, his 32% this season as a rookie was better than some notable superstars this season:
Doncic 31.6
Giannis: 30.5
Westbrook: 25.8
Jokic: 31.4
Jimmy Butler: 24.4
Ben Simmons: 28.6
Of course these guys do a lot of other things for their teams so you can forgive them for these suboptimal numbers.
Not everybody can be like Klay Thompson or Allan Houston. I get it. Larry Bird in one of his instructional videos said that you take the most comfortable form that works for you just make sure you square up, bend your knees, look at the rim and follow through. I teach my players the same way.
RJ just needs to find his form and be consistent. I mean Reggie Miller has an unorthodox shooting form but that sucker still tortured me. If he becomes successful with that follow through then keep with it. If not then he needs to fix that.

If he can get it to even just 75% that would be a big help. He draws a lot of contact
