Warriors Impressed After Private Workout With Deni Avdija
The Golden State Warriors worked out Deni Avdija on Thursday morning in Atlanta.

Avdija performed well in the workout with Warriors' officials reportedly "blown away" after meeting with him.

Avdija is a 19-year-old wing from Maccabi Tel Aviv expected to be a high lottery pick. The Warriors currently own the second overall pick.

Steve Kerr was among the contingent from the Warriors to attend the workout.

Steve Kerr and other members of the Warriors organization worked out Maccabi Tel Aviv prospect Deni Avdija on Thursday morning in Atlanta, according to sources. By all accounts, it was a positive get together, one in which the 19-year-old Israeli impressed observers. Not only did Avdija perform well in the workouts, but Warriors officials were blown away after meeting with him. The universal takeaway was that he’s a “great kid” with an immense work ethic.

My crystal ball is saying GSW are very keen to trade their 2nd rounder, or get their pick of Edwards or Wiseman. No way they are picking Deni at 2.

I can totally see him fitting in and turning into a slightly smaller version of KD- team oriented slick passing smooth shooting SF.

I guess Deni could turn into another Frank N- but I doubt it. He's going to be a solid player.

We'd be lucky if he falls and we're able to draft him.

I think Deni is overrated. For #2 and for #8. I did not like picking Frank N at #8 either, he grew in on me with his defense and personal charisma. But would probably rather see us pick Deni than Okoro at #8 (is Okoro really better than, say, Justise Winslow?)

I also did not like KP at #4, but that is another story altogether.

If he was so good why would they say that when they only have pick 2? I call bs
Nalod @ 10/23/2020 11:20 AM
How can he be over rated when he has yet to play a game in the NBA?
As for GSW hyping it up do we think they are to hype the kid and incentivize other teams to want to trade up and get him??
Or are we fans who project teams think, or should think as we do?
Can’t imagine any time a player auditions teams would not be complimentary of him. Seems polite.
Also they want to create a market for the pick if they decide on wanting to trade it.

For the next 3 1/2 weeks I am not believing anything until confirmed and official.

Deni would be worth trading to acquire on draft night.

He's the kind of high character pick who likely won't embarrass you six months later. Tier one, period. But we already knew that.

Wary of teams telegraphing their picks. "Look at the diamond in the rough we found!". We'll see if GS follows through.

If they love him so much that they are blown away by him then they should just take him at 2. With how unpredictable this draft can be, he can land anywhere so what’s the point of risking a trade-down? None.

Who overrates him BTW? Certainly not on this message board. A few people want him but certainly not most.

I just saw an article that pretty much said that hahahaha

Here it is:

https://www.nbcsports.com/bayarea/warrio...

Owner Joe Lacob, president of basketball operations Bob Myers, coach Steve Kerr and director of sports medicine and performance Rick Celebrini also saw James Wiseman and Anthony Edwards, The Athletic's Marcus Thompson reported, citing sources.

"Wiseman is as big and skilled as advertised," Thompson writes. "They also liked him when they had their conversation/interview or whatever it was.

"Edwards’ exceptional athleticism jumped out in person. He seemed to really impress the Warriors with his freakishness."

Golden State holds the rights to the No. 2 overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft (scheduled for Nov. 18), and recently received clearance from the NBA to travel around the country to scout prospects.

Edwards is going 1st overall and Wiseman is a Center and you saw what happened with Cousins in Golden State. Centers are worthless in today’s nba unless you have a rim protector rebounding machine like Mitch or a freakishly good passer like Jokic

Warriors know what they are doing and like Avdija. He’s a better Danilo Gallinari
