Knicks · All around the League: 2020-21 season! (page 32)

Man, IT, Grant Hill...players need to learn that their bodies come first. There are team's that show loyalty, but most of them will churn you out and move on without hesitation.

Had an uneasy feeling in the pit of my stomach all day behind this news...I've watched him quite a bit on NBAtv and was a regular on during the NBA season as a guest on sports radio down here in Atlanta...

Bradley Beal with 47 and Wizards still lose. Gotta feeling he’ll be moved sooner rather than later it’s just a matter of who. Only team I see making a big play for him is 76ers.

I don't watch much of Beal, but... is he an empty stats player these days? He's put up monster scoring numbers the past few years but they haven't really translated to wins. Or is it more of the case that he's like Mitch Richmond, doomed with playing on perennially bad teams?

he looked good last night!! biggest issue at the moment is he has a big contract but he could be lethal -- ala Ray Allen addition -- on the right team.

Chandler @ 1/28/2021 9:05 AM
Watched the Pelicans last night. I used to joke that Zion was the love child of Lebron and Barkley. In reality his current game reminds me a lot of Larry Johnson in his prime UNLV and early pro years. Freakishly explosive

Also Lonzo is a complete enigma. There are a lot of tantalizing pieces on the Pels right now. One would think it's the perfect combo for Lonzo -- lots of guys to create magic with. Yet it doesn't happen. Yes he threw a Sports Center full court pass, but overall you couldn't tell whether or not he was even on the court. Who knows maybe it's coaching. I could have imagined a Jason Kidd career (think early years) where he couldn't shoot but unquestionably made players around him better. Not seeing it. Kind of feel sorry for him to be honest

A minus 14 in the plus/minus whatever that means. Mavs are 8 - 9, in the 10th spot for one of the 8 playoff slots. There are like 8 or 9 teams hovering around .500 with them competing for the last 4 or 5 positions. With Luka you don't count them out, but it's getting fun to watch.

Lets kinda not jinx this here. Notice I stopped putting crap about them in my signature because they win everytime I mention something.

Okay i won't say anything about their game last night ;)

Guy is a total baller. It’s just that him and his team don’t reallly like playing defense

Beal is Melo. Dude gets it done but his team does not. Paired with John wall on paper was good until Paper gets hurt. Westbrook is fine but Covid might be a problem for his motor, he is over 30, and he is not a chemistry guy either.
Melo was never our problem. Breal is not the problem. Beal would costs like 4 picks and Randle.

Is he worth it? Lay out the team in the aftermath of such a trade and then start to judge from their.
I’m not saying never say never but “not yet” might be about right.

BigDaddyG @ 1/28/2021 7:37 PM
Beal staying quiet, but his wife is doing a whole lot of talking.

Yeah I’d never pull the trigger for Beal right now. He’d cost too much and we wouldn’t have anything to pair him with. Wizards arnt really in much of a position to get new assets with Russell Westbrook on the books.

Beal actually said he wanted to stay in one interview here on the local nbc outlet but I doubt it.

Maybe he wants the coach fired?

Putting aside the issue of cost for which I don’t know, I kind of disagree. He would fit well here as instant zone breaker. And wiz have to be on the cusp of a rebuild.

Maybe having a bonafide scorer in the backcourt full time gives Thibs the ease of mind to finally let Frankie out of the doghouse? Beal and Quick? Beal and Rivers? That might solve some spacing problems. But agreed, certainly don't want to pay too much, either in yoots or too many picks.

Brooks and Beal have had a very good relationship. I’m also inclined to believe that he wants more moves to be made to get him some help. Though I don’t know how they do that without giving up youth/picks

martin @ 1/29/2021 11:29 AM
Man, Washington paying their backcourt of Russell and Beal a combined $70M. Let that sink in.

Knicks TOTAL cap is $92M and that includes $11.5M payments to Noah, Evans, Wayne Ellington lol

By historical standards knicks have done some stupid things but we are not long on the “NBA’s worst player on contract list” for some time now. Noah was pretty bad but not a franchise killer. There will come a time to take risks. Paul George looked awful but now he is making Kawahi look bad with his wonderful season. Rockets managed to shed some potential bad deals. They offered Harden 50mm per extensions to start in two years! Dude has been durable, even 20 lbs over weigh and can still hang 40 on a given night.
My point is there is a time and a place and as much as we are stinging from KP rejection of knicks we don’t have his contract.
And to be honest Dallas did not bring him to be the man, he was bought in to be Luca’s sidekick!
KP gets paid well for it. He can’t complain. I don’t hear any such thing either.
