Not to be ugly but Payne is African American and while certainly qualified might just be window dressing to make the search complete. Not uncommon. Payne is paid 1.5mm as a knick coach. Not chump change for a dude not associate head coach. If he desires a head gig and thats his path I trust Thibs can find someone to also do a good job.
Ouch! So cynical hahaha I wonder how many donor dollars DePaul has to throw around. Do they have a Mike Repole, like St. John's had, to create an enticing recruiting package? Their current coach makes $1.3M per. That doesn't include the numerous perks and bonuses he probably gets.
DePaul like ST John’s was once a big deal in the second city. Read they could go over 2mm per for the right guy. THe Loyola guy has been killing it and being local keeps fans and alum in place. Money talks.

LIke many of us we saw a lot of Zion but Reddish and Barrett ere interesting as well. Reddish in his lone season showed some great flashes of brilliant ability but was inconsistent. Still is but he is very young also. ATL. Is also playing really well now so its a fascinating story to stay on top of. They likely would want future assets. You know, Pick and young player. I’m not into “yeah, I’d give them Knox otherwise tell them to go phuch themselves and their sister who sucks balls”. Our coaches have to consider him a worthy prospect and a rising talent which is why he’d cost more than most would want to do at this moment.

I dunno...this may be the first and last time I agree with Stephen A. The fact that Max thinks it's a good move seals it for me. The Knicks should just say no.

To clarify I'm definitely not sold on a trade but I do think Magic is right that we have a lot of guys who are willing to run the floor for easy baskets( RJ/Mitch/Randle etc..) but can't because we don't have passers on the team.

Also: What do you guys make of a potential Brogdon deal?

Doubt it happens. Jrue Holiday is the standard, then we're looking at multiple firsts/ swaps.

Younger players with upside like Lonzo and Reddish I am good with as targets -- as long as the payment is fair.

True. These desperation Summer trades really screwed the trade market..

When I was hit with this last March, I don't think I felt truly like myself until, maybe, this past Fall.
I've had to pause to catch my breath just walking up a flight of stairs. I've never had the flu so I can't compare but COVID really did a number on me so I totally understand what Tatum is going through

Sheesh. Glad you’ve recovered but it definitely seems like a recurring theme. One of the players on a soccer team I follow also had COVID and he looked like he was still in recovery for a good 2-3 months afterwards. Shits so scary.
