trade down to add picks with our first pick nesmith. Kira would be gone.
Trade up for advija, ball or wiseman (my least favorite scenario)
Trading for Westbrook (worse than the above idea) great for entertainment, generating revenue and to finish 8th.
My list is deficient of 4s because I believe we will pick up a veteran stretch 4 in free agency.also we have wooten already.
Also i expect a veteran pg to be signed
Why don't you think Haliburton is a good fit? He's one of the better shooters in the draft and can play either guard position and play on or off the ball. I think he's a great fit. He's my top choice at this point still if he's there. My guess is we end up with Haliburton or Vassell because both are CAA clients, both are versatile and can play in a variety of lineups. When you have a rebuilding situation and so many unknowns, I think line-up versatility is very important and either of these players offer that. In order to go with a PG, the front office will have to really fall in love with a prospect like Lewis or Hayes in order to draft either. They have to be extra confident this is the PG of the future and essentially are ruling out future moves for VanVleet, Westbrook, Conley etc. So unless they feel one of those guys is a future star, the safe bet is the multi-position guy.
He might have a great percentage but is that form of his really going to work in the NBA? I’ll give you the defense and passing and athleticism but that form is going to become a problem.
He shot the ball very deep in college. As a catch and shoot player he will have no problems with his shot. As a playmaker, yes, he won't be an elite pullup threat, so it lowers his floor from potential star to elite role player. But drafting at 8 i'm okay with that. He's a plug in play player whoever you sign/trade for etc. He can start right away at the 2 or play off the bench as a combo guard. He's really the perfect fit for Atl so I would expect them to take him if they stay pat, but if they trade out or something he could fall to us and is a good fit with Barrett and Mitch as a great passer, spot up threat, and team defender all being very transferrable skills.
I see Haliburton having problems similar to Lonzo shooting from three. Can you imagine him winding up with Mitch flying at him? Not completely closed off to move, but the fan base will need to temper expectations.
Toppin or Okongwu with the 8th pick.
If both not availavle, trade down and pick up Bey and either Terry, Nesmith or Green.
Mcdaniels with 27th.
Ramsey, Joe or Pritchard with 38th

His game checks a lot of boxes, But he doesn’t have much wiggle and can’t create separation. I doubt he can get by an athletic 4. He seems like a career long runner up championship point guard unless he is matched with a back court partner who is an engine. This way he can play more off ball. Secondary facilitator.
Vassell at 8, Quickly at 27

You can get quickley at 39
look for something else you like at 27
My list
1-Obi/Deni
2-Okoro
3-Vassel
I have said since day 1 that this a guy I think could be the best player in the draft in a few years... this is not a great draft so give me the guy that can get 28ppg working everywhere on the court
Nbadraft.net has Deni going 11 to the Spurs now... I think if Obi doesn't fall then Deni does. I don't know if he great at any one thing but he apparently does it all. Going from 4 to 11 seems insane to me
So I see it possible that either Obi falls or Deni falls and give me either
Okoro's mindset reminds me of Jimmy Butler and Thibs made that work so I like him
Vassel-I'm not smitten and I usually loathe drafting for need.... but we had no tournament season to gauge these guys so I'm okay with grabbing what we need where he's projected to go
ha now we gotta start this one over
8 -- Hayes or Halliburton
23 -- Desmond Bane
At 8 BPA - any of Vassell, Okoro, Haliburton, Advida, Ball work for me
At 23, I need quality - Anthony, Bane, Terry, Nesmith, or Carey would be who I target even if this pick needs to be traded up to do it
if they keep the picks! may need to start again before this is through
if the Knicks intend to pick at 23 smells like C.Anthony or T. Maxey angle -- i.e., they're hoping one of those drop, and the all quiet on C. Anthony makes me think he's the one
at 8 i still want someone who will impact the game in some way and i would like to think Nesmith. for whatever reason some great shooters have dropped in this range or lower. Murray, Klay, Booker.
Edwards is giving me a DSJ vibe.

I don't believe Maxey is dropping out the lottery. Anthony or someone like RJ Hampton is more likely. I do believe the rumors that they're trying to trade up.
