So did 2 of the TOP AVAILABLE Point Guards just come of the board almost within hours of each other ?????

Yeah, Rose is playing 4 D chess. Let's do it!

Looks like the hornets are just using the stretch provision on Batum- no breaks for us this off-season! Sheesh!
Not saying its a bad thing, but have we ever fielded a worse team than the monstrosity we're fielding this season? I think they'll be likeable, but we just seem completely devoid of even nba starter calibre players
so we avoided the thrill of a brand new FA
that said, i am perfectly fine with that. last year was a reminder to us, that FA is a bit like buying a car. Value drops significantly soon as you drive it off the lot
for all of the talk of COVID and team stress, none of these guys were close to bargains.
success is far more typically the result of hard work, grit, persistence, discipline -- not quick fixes.
At this moment (things can change) perhaps we are confident in our young guys getting fixed and ether they perform on the court or impress enough to warrant more in a trade.
its a leap of faith for a fan.
Its all we got for the moment. Two rookies coming in and new coaches with a few new faces as well. Still time but doubt we do a big trade.
Ha ha, this is the icing on the cake
Melo re-signing with blazers--phew!

Honestly, you couldn't choose a better season to tank- no fans in arenas, fewer games, a compressed schedule, it will fly by. I'm looking at it as an extended training camp/ college season for the young players.
Wow, what an absolute wipe out in free agency! I find it quite funny for some reason
Let’s hope this KCP rumor isn’t true. Definitely don’t need him here.
I would still extend an offer to Bogey, I like him as a trade piece down the road and nice floor spaced in the interim.
I like the patient approach but man we are going to be BAD this season lmao

He took less than Burks hahahaha
Honestly, I’m surprised some of you are so shocked that we didn’t get anyone relevant in free agency. Unless some miracle happened and we got both FVV and Hayward, both who weren’t really pursued, truth is we all knew we were in for another year of rebuilding.
We’ve done this dance before, but draft night was telling in terms of how the new management team could be trusted to do things differently. So far, so good:
-They made many moves and got serious talent on draft night.
-They did some favors in Free Agency while getting flexible pieces that could be moved at the deadline (Burks) or simply be let go.
-Not making any desperate, long-term move and risking assets like draft picks is big, especially for this coming draft that might be loaded.
I’m starving for NY basketball, even if it’s just about a bunch of kids learning a new offense and trying to prove they should be a part of our future. A top pick at the end would be amazing as it will set a full talented foundation.
We need to show players that the culture has changed. Players currently can’t envision the Knicks being a capable organization. It is going to be a long process
Everything is going fine. There will be another move or two but happy we haven't been stupid succumbing to pressure. Looking forward to the games.
we signed Bobby Portis last year for 15MM
Bucks got him (no injuries) for under 4MM
this is why Mills and Perry sucked ass. this time last year they were drunken sailors in a CAPPED league.
https://www.newsday.com/sports/columnist...From the front page. Glad to hear Rose is being patient. One big reason teams are passing on us. Because a large part of our gameplan over the last few years was to tank our way to a better team. Some of it was understandable. We had given away so many 1st rounders in the past.
Now we have a top 3 pick, RJ, the 8th pick, Toppin. Mitch, and his record breaking season. Quickley looks promising. 2021 is a huge FA class. We spend another season hoping to draft our way out of this, and free agents will pass on us again.
Knicks have to show some real improvement, before FAs arent just using the Knicks as leverage. We have to get better with more or less the talent we have.
The best case scenario for the knicks is they somehow become one of the leagues surprise team being very competitive and even challenging a playoff spot with this current group, its still possible.
Unless they sign a starting caliber SF, Knox might come out the big winner this offseason, he will have a chance to get the starting SF. Im a bit worried Ob1, Frank DSJ and Quickley will be buried at the bench this coming season. Most likely starters are Randle and Payton. Unless Thibs changes his preference I am anticipating Randle and Payton eating up 30 mins or more each game.
Thibs said it himself, young players can still develop without them seeing the hardwood during the season. I know its win now mode and it should be that way, i just hate when the front office year in and year out bring in rentals that soak up all the minutes and somehow the youth development suffers. Whats the point of getting lottery picks each year and every year they don't develop properly. I do hope it different this year.
I never took the rumors seriously, but...a great weight has been lifted.
