Knicks · 2021 NCAA prospect watch / 2021 Draft (page 31)

Uptown @ 4/15/2021 2:16 PM
Cameron Thomas is a flat-out bucket getter. Has range out to 30 feet. Cam had the ultimate green-light at LSU and I believe he is a better shooter than his fg%'s indicate. He will probably be there for our first pick in the first round...I would take a long look at him....

I'd like him more if he were more athletic or was a better passer. His defense is also non existent. Wouldn't complain too much if we snagged him because he is talented but he's a bit too one dimensional in terms of impact.

The further we slip in the draft, the available prospects will obviously have more question marks than the prospects in the top 10. With that said, he is not a one dimensional scorer. He can score at all 3 levels; 3-ball, has the floater in his arsenal and can finish at the rim. Very creative scorer. Decent size at 6'4 210 lbs.

He's definitely not a pg or a facilitator, so you definitely want to pair him with a true pg. Most of the guys on our current roster weren't known as defenders, in fact some had a rep as being flat-out bad (Obi, Burks, etc) yet, they are a part of a team that leads the league in multiple defensive categories. I'm sure he can adapt if he's here or he wont play.

Uptown. Maybe a version of Mitch Richmond?

Not a bad comparison. Thomas has more range on his shot but hey have similar builds, neither is/was very athletic but are walking buckets, at least in college.

Nothing against Thomas, but I think you guys forget how good Mitch was. Michael Jordan once said he was the guy whose playing style came close to his. 39% three point shooter, good for 4 assists a game, could slash, was a beast in the post, was a two-way player. This is a bad comparison.

I remember how good Mitch was as a pro... My comparison was strictly a college comparison ( see my last line) . To be fair, I only saw Mitch in the tournament when K State made that run to the elite 8 and lost to Danny Manning and the Jayhawks. You are correct, though, their games are different for the most part, My comparison ficusex more on both being undersized, strong 2 guards that can get buckets from 3 levels. If Cam can have half the career that Mitch had. that will exceed most everyone's expectations.....

No worries...it's just that it wasn't too long ago when I remember reading Aaron Nesmith/Glen Rice comparisons...never forget!

What has happened to the guy? Is it that Boston's two best players essentially play his position?

wargames @ 4/18/2021 5:29 PM
Knicks need to draft a PG.... maybe two outside the lottery

He wasn't ready and Boston and Boston's two best players are blocking him. He's shown some signs tho.

If we stay down at 16-21-32
I’d like one of the picks to be Jeremiah earl. We don’t have a player who can guard 6/7–6-9 SF
We really don’t have a SF.
He reminds me a great deal of Tobias Harris — also he’s a better 3 point shooter than his stats. Good two way player who can also score 3 levels and actually played pg for Villanova at parts of games.

BRIGGS.... this should have you your wife excited for days on end.

Dude looks like a bigger version of Ben Simmons who can shoot

Wow! I remember watching this kid play earlier in the year and he looked talented, but raw. His game is really coming together. Of course, these are just cherry picked highlights. But the talent is evident.

We need a PG badly Peyton is not it and hopefully is gone after this year , I love what Rose brings he is older though .I would love Lonzo but if not how about Ayo Dosunmu out of Illinois will he still be on the board by the time we pick ?

From the article :
At last, our guys in Orange and Blue.

The NY Knicks have desperately needed a starting point guard for many years. Though there are no guarantees of finding one at this stage of the first round, Dosunmu is a half-decent bet.

Ayo flashes all the potential skills to be a long-time team-leading floor general in the pros. Throughout his three years at Illinois, Dosunmu showed an ability to control the offensive pace, take care of the basketball, and make heady decisions every time down the floor. He’s more than a mere game manager though; he’s crafty when looking to drive and can knock down 3s. He is also an able perimeter defender.

Probably. I like him, but a lot of mocks have him in the late first/second round range. I wouldn't mind taking a shot with the Detroit pick.

100% I think he can play from minute 1. Hes a 6-5 PG great size length can do it pretty much all. Id feel good picking him
