Looks like last summer was the year of the power forward. This summer is the year of the guards/small forwards. He at least plays defense, but will he even make the final roster? It is a nonguaranteed deal.
Feel like this is the move before the move, or something like that.
Do the Knicks have a nice balance of vets and young kids? Is Taj still out there?
The unfolding is happening and training camp starts in 3 days!

I think this is us doing Kidd-Gilchrist a favor, not us prepping for a move.
It's been downhill for him since he peaked at 22! And the trajectory is out of the league.
Hey - we helped Mudiay rejuvenate his career, and Trey Burke. With our record and talent, we need to find gems off the scrap heap.

Eh, more like spare parts. Plug him into spot minutes at both forward positions. I won't be too happy if it leads to Iggy or Spellman being cut, too guys who address a glaring need on this roster with their shooting.
Bring him to camp, maybe he earns a spot if a trade opens things up, or impresses to catch on with another team. Maybe we doing him a favor, maybe he doing us a favor by rounding out our camp?
No sense figuring it out until final rosters are due.
So the CAA/Kentucky conspiracy theory grows...hope we didn't pay much but another one year deal. Wonder what his issue is -- injuries? See he had surgery for a chronic groin issue. Maybe Frank needs to speak with him. Anyway, not going to get excited or freak out.
I honestly hope/ think he will make the team because he can provide defense and energy in practice. He’s a well-respected vet who will push RJ and Obi everyday. I expect him to hang around as long as this front office is in place. He’s the new lance thomas. As long as he’s not in the regular rotation he’s a benefit to this team.
I love this so much.. I see it as zero risk. It is also a position of need. I like bringing a bunch of guys that were a part of successful system elsewhere and making everyone else fall in like...
In the late 90s early 00s the Rangers were an effing joke, a disgrace, and right after the lockout they signed a bunch of Czech nationals that played in the same international program and then they finally made the playoffs. Maybe we miss that but maybe we can at least shift the culture a bit from whatever this was
seems like a smart low risk move. from what i heard he has been good on d and in the locker room. yes, never lived up to draft slot but that's old news
now we need a culture

I wonder if the biggest shoe since Patrick Ewing is about to drop. What if Leon decided that none of the guys he didn't bring in are worthy - RJ, Mitch, Frank, etc. And what if you take those guys and package with most of our future picks. Does that get you Harden? And does a Harden-Obi-Nerlens-Austin-Payton starting five get you where you want to go? With MKG, Quickley, etc. on the bench. Hmmm.

We could have had CP3 for less. I don't think he's going there.
If Kidd-Gilchrist shows something, they might sign him for the season, maybe trade him for a pick later on.
Rose might also want to give Thibs as many live bodies as possible. So he doesnt rely too much on the core. Whoever ends up being part of it.
Dallas had him as defensive stopper. Put him on Kahwi in playoffs. Not great but not worthless.
It's an exhibit 10 contract. Nothing to lose.
Still think a roster move is in the works.
Decent move. His last full season be shot 34% from 3 which is not good but not terrible either. Can play D. His shooting percentages were Dennis Smith-ian last year but he also played on 3 different teams so maybe it had an effect
