Phew, I can finally relax! Both bullets dodged!
I am actually looking forward to seeing if John Wall can still play at a high level, but I'm glad it's not on our dime
I know Westbrook wouldn't have fitted, but thinking about this deal and what was traded- I feel like if we had offered to take Westbrook into our cap space (and i don't know that with our small moves we would have had any) in exchange for a 2nd rounder - we would have been on par with Wall & a first rounder!

Westbrook would dominate the ball, the offense, like he did in OKC. Probably not as efficiently. Too many recent draft picks, who need to shoot the ball.

Rose implied he made an offer similar to that when speaking with the media
Unfortunately Tillman Fertita thinks he’s getting the John Wall of 7 years ago

The media are bullshit. They just stir up negativity
We have taken the same route to the lottery for 7 straight yrs and will more than likely be 8 straight and your blaming the Media..
whats the difference between losing 50 games over the cap, or 50 games under the cap?
The Lakers just Gave A (super injury prone) D a max contract, and if he came to NY he would have gotten the same thing.
My son has been a Wizzy fan since Wall entered the NBA. We've met him a few times, pre-game on court and once at a tourney. My hope is this may finally get him to consider becoming a NYK fan. But then again...that's about as hard a sell as there is. FML!
Terrible trade for Rockets if that 1st rounder is protected. Don't like it for either team. NBA is getting ridiculous in some ways.
Rockets in a bad way. Pretty obvious Tillman wanted Westbrook and not Morey. Its owners prerogative. They have to try to placate Harden who has two years left and some serious max money Rockets can give. In two years when he is free BKN might be cooked.
Can Wall play? Don’t know.
Can Westbrook play with Beal Don’t know. Was the trade done with his blessing? Don’t know.
Did Rockets get screwed? Don’t know.
Don’t care.
Neither is a Knick. I care.

The pick is lottery protected and Wall hasn’t played more than 41 games in a season since 2016. Not to mention his game when he was good was based on his speed which is not there anymore
Rockets would have been better off doing a straight salary dump with us and dumping Harden’s contract with the nets for Dinwiddie, Allen and picks

I LOVE this trade for the Wizards. Wall is owed 130+mil over the next 3 years and he may be cooked as a player. Never thought Wizards would have been able to get away from that contract which would have kept them in a bind for the next 3 yrs. To not only dump the contract but be able to get an upgrade like Westbrook in the process is amazing for them.
Not to mention Scott Brooks was the coach of that Thunder team that went to the finals. So he at least is very familiar with Westbrook and Westbrook with him.

And they have the type of team to surround Westbrook that makes sense too, guys that spread the floor.

Just praying Wall stays healthy enough and plays well just enough to make Houston another road block for Dallas

Good point. Going to be interesting to see where our 1st rd pick falls. Not expecting a collapse without KP though. Not unless Doncic starts missing games.

Just observers saying how good he looks in workouts.

Prior to the injury he suited and played in 90% of the wizards games, he took his time to get back to a 100% like Kawhi did, and kawhi came back and won a ring with another team.

Either way the Knocks did the right thing. In the past they made these type of moves and would live to regret them. I’m glad we aren’t making dumb moves anymore which handcuff us

West is going to be very interesting this yr. Look at the spot rac rosters for 2021 throughout the West and other than Thunder & Spurs who will still be well coached, and there is relative talent across the board. Kings & Wolves though I won't give the benefit of the doubt until they actually prove it. But that's 4 out of 15 teams. Leaving 11 teams in the West fighting for the 8th seed.
I was even sleeping on Memphis for some reason , but when looking at it Morant-Jackson aren't that far off of a duo from Luka-KP. Then when u look at the supporting cast. Val, Clarke, Brooks, Winslow, Crowder, Melton, Allen, Anderson, Dieng. That's very similar and arguably better supporting cast to Dallas.
Same can be said for the combination of talent for the Suns, Warriors & Portland making quality additions. Humor me and say Lakers, Clippers, Nuggets, Jazz, Blazers, Warriors, Grizzlies, Suns. That still leaves Rockets, Wolves, Pelicans, Kings trying to take any of those teams out along with Dallas.

Woj now saying Harden pushed for Wall.
