Wood is better than Any knick? Randle is our best player. Thats not saying a lot after one game.
Rockets lost BTW. They have a lot of guys out so Wood had carry a lot.
Rockets sill lost.
Harden is top 10 player.
Rockets still lost.
Knicks lost too.
martin, can we just sticky every BRIGGS CWood thread? I think it would be interesting to see how many there are... Maybe we can start a pool.
Can't wait for the New Year's Wood Thread! Everyone gets New Year's Wood!

But gotta hand it to you Briggs, you got this one right. Woods is a good young player that we should have added.
I comment on a lot of players because there is hundreds of drafted players. I talked about a lot of players this year— who was my top dog?
I remember when trae young was coming out I said straight out pick 1 — many people including those who wrote in this post said he was actual garbage. That’s not true at all.
And it’s not about me saying anything. I wrote another post saying other posters had it right w Vassell— they did. We should have Vassell and Woods. Instead we got bullock and Toppin—- that’s y we sck. The only guy who was the right guy was up and Barrett — otherwise we have done sht.
If there were a search feature it would be pretty easy to find you posting similar comments about Ky Bowman from BC
With all due respect (as I do like your posts) you’re like one of these stock picker guys on tv who reminds everyone they said buy Apple but never reminds people of the many duds or overall pick history

Remember when Briggs touted the stocks he’d buy? He’d hit some and miss others. It was fun stuff!
Put Randle on houston and wood on the knicks, with their crowded paint and non shooters last year. Briggs wouldve created a Randle thread. While woods would look average, when u have 3 in the paint waiting. Houston is wide open on offense, since they have an open and spread the floor offense....surrounded by shooters. Deciding between knicks and rockets is a no brainer. I dont care how much cap space we have. U can't force somebody to play here.
Bottom line is we love players on other teams...until they become Knicks, then we pick them apart and trash them.
If it was up to Briggs we wouldnt be able to sign Wood because we would still be locked into max deals to Isiaih Thomas and Enes Kantor

Like I said , I give you credit for Woods. However, think Nalod brought up a good point. We drafted Obi who we did not think would be available on the 18th. Why would we look to add Woods on the 20th? Also, someone else brought up the question of Why would Woods pick the Knicks over the Rockets? As for Vassell. I wanted him early on and then changed my pick to Obi or Devi once I saw Vassell's mechanics and the fact Obi and Devi were still available. No way I take Vassell with those two on the board.
Disagree with the fact we have not done anything. Adding Burks was big, Rivers, I feel, will be big. We added a couple of young guys with promise and we are one of the youngest teams in the NBA and just beat the Bucks. That is something?

Sorry no. Before my time.
Funny irony though. The teams which had insider knowledge on Woods (Detroit and anyone else he played for) supposedly have superior info on him but didn’t want him either.
Correct me if I'm wrong, Wood has still only played one game this season correct? A lot of weight being given to that single game.

Think 2 games now- I think he had 3 rebounds last night
On Brian Windhurst's podcast a former GM/front office guy (or something like that) said Wood had "a book of red flags" off the court, which is why teams have stayed clear of him and Detroit didn't want to keep him. No idea what they are/were of he's sorted them, but this has come up a few times.
Harden compared Rockets to being like the knicks. Maybe he was thinking signing woods is desperate like when we catered and paid JR smith. Kid had talent but was a bone head on and off the court.

Harden better keep that mouth closed. That team needs to keep it together this year and beat the Mavs every meeting

That’s literally all I care about when it comes to the NBA this season, outside of the Knicks.
