Ugly win but I’ll take it
KnickDanger @ 12/29/2020 9:24 PM
Despite a lot of turnovers and some spotty shooting the team won. Rebounds and defense.

We have higher standards, now...You don't just want to win, you want to win while doing the kind of things which will help you win against better competition.
technomaster @ 12/29/2020 9:31 PM
Wow, Randle was 1 TO away from a rare quadruple double!
Good Payton showed up again... slicing through defenders to the basket. Any thoughts on whether he’s doing anything differently, or if the team is setting up better picks for him?

Great win. We bring our record to .500! Beating the same team 3x in a row is tough, this time a undefeated team (previously 3-0). You’d think the Cavs would be pretty annoyed.

The big thing will be whether our guys are buying into it...win or lose, as the season progresses.

So far so good.

“Higher Standards”? How is that? What part of losing do we like? I’m not the one who replaced damn near the whole front office? Did not cost me or any fan. How are we somehow more deserving? What “standard” did we as fans some how become entitled to?

WP76 @ 12/29/2020 9:44 PM
I know it's waaaay too early to make any definitive statements but, just maybe, having a seasoned NBA coach might be making a bit of a difference.

Typical Knick fandom. Even when we win they are picky about it. May be because they also have to eat crow about the guys that are getting us the win?

what impressed me about Elf tonight was he simply stuck with it. He hit a couple big 3s late but most of all he just kept attacking and defending when his shot wasnt falling. So did RJ. So did Mitch. I thought when you talk about culture change you just look at the night two 3 guys had. The missed tons of shots but played their asses off till the end and were all part of making big plays.

Bench did a good job as well. No Burks and his 20 bench points. They had to grind it out.

Elf, Randle, Bullock and Knox shot a combined 13 from 19 from 3. Burks who?

Pre season was a mirage

OT: has anyone noticed that the Wizards are 0-4 (3 games at home) with Westbrook averaging a triple double? As bad as our point guards are, I am so glad we didn't go that direction.

Wasn't long ago that some media and fans were pushing for us to trade #1's, Randle, etc. for Westbrook and his stinky contract. Thank f@#king God.

Knixkik @ 12/29/2020 10:23 PM
I think we felt the pain of not having Burks tonight because Randle and Barrett are the only 2 real scoring options. We were able to fall back on defense but we need that third guy who can put up 20.
fitzfarm @ 12/29/2020 10:23 PM
Gotta give it up to elf for 10 pts in the 4th... randle is a beast.. a star if he keeps this up
TPercy @ 12/29/2020 10:30 PM
I know it’s early but man the difference in our offense between last year and now is astounding despite having arguably less talent. I don’t even think it’s near perfect but it’s just refreshing to finally watch an NBA level offense. Haven’t had that since Horny.

Will be great to see how this team runs on full strength. If Randle can sustain this level of play( with reasonable drop in his shooting #s) this puts us closer to 35 ish wins which is huge for me.

KnickDanger @ 12/29/2020 10:55 PM
Knicks are going to drop a couple soon so let's hang on to the optimism. We're heading in the right direction.
