First time the knicks won 3 out of 4 on a road trip since 2010 !

Cliff notes? Anything in particular stand out?
I didn't catch all of but, mostly he would be asked a question and then give actual evidence to support his response.
- When he was asked was he surprised about out play of late he said that you usually see it in practice if a team is good and referred to seeing signs there prior.
- When asked about Quickly's influence he referred to his ability to go to the basket but starts with the shooting. Said he watched him at Kentucky and noticed similar attributes along with other aspects he knew of his experience there he felt there would help, and showed attributes in personality that support his performance. (I literally just heard Quickly be asked himself about why and also referred to his time at Kentucky under the style/coaching there).
- He also answered questions about Randle but I didn't get a chance to hear much.
Otherwise point is it was less generic and more thought out. Sure, we just won, and maybe he's been wanting to answer these questions and allows him.

Still turning the ball over WAYYYY too much. Randle had 7 turnovers.

Thanks for the taking the time to type that out....Appreciate it!
oh man what a good game. After like game 4 I was a believer. I dont know how talented we are, but I know we are young, big, athletic and well coached and we are going to pound you on defense, in the paint and on the boards every night. We are contesting every shot. We are getting better. This is how rebuilding is supposed to look. You queue up a promising young group and get some quality vets who are ego free and a great coach. With IQ/RJ/Knox/Obi/Mitch we have a legit rotation guy and prospect with upside at every spot. More to come!
Some really tidbits from the Thibs post game conference:
He loves IQ and Mitch. My heart!
On Mitch: "He's getting better every game and he changes the way we defend."
On IQ and why he trusts him in crunch time: "He can shoot. (long pause maybe realizing the dig on Elf??
) IQ is a student of the game, takes care of the ball and stays within himself. I really trust him.
He's riding RJ and Randle and lets face it, those dudes are doing the heavy lifting. RJ at SG is such a plus. He can guard 1s, 2s and 3s and when he gets these little guards like Trey on switches he destroys them. He's going to get a lot stronger in time and his handle/court vision are already GOOD. We are beating good teams!
WE DEFEND ON EVERY PLAY.
and btw if you followed the Knicks a thousand years ago Thibs literally echoes shit JVG used to say. They are sacrificing. They are mentally tough. I like how they fought. Its literally a JVG post game after a Heat/Knick playoff game
Thibs and the staff they built... well its shocking how these guys look.

Ok. WHo around here hands out the Nostradomus awards after a game? I have already prepared and rehearsed my acceptance speech but have to get to bed soon.
Boy it’s sweet seeing guards skink buckets. Oh what a breath of fresh air.

Thibs is from the Riley Van Gundy school of coaching...Knicks will play every game like its game 7....No nights off. With that mentality we will get our fair share of wins. Thibs and his staff is coaching up this group; Randle looks like an allstar, RJ was pulling up from mid-range which is what he should be doing more of (coaching?). One complaint, he's gotta ease-up on the mins a bit. Randle and RJ cant be playing over 40 mins on a regular basis or during close games. Hopefully, Obi, Burks and Frank return and those mins come down a bit. Also, Quick needs to get over 20 mins, nightly. Personally, I would like to see him start, asap (the future is now) but I know Thibs wont do that.
On IQ and why he trusts him in crunch time: "He can shoot. (long pause maybe realizing the dig on Elf??

Elf is one of my least favorite Knicks of all time....Hate the way he monopolizes the ball and only passes if it will lead to an assist. Very frustrating to watch...Can't wait til he's gone....Why the fluck is he taking 18 shots in 3 quarters?!?!

And where do you see the Mavs pick landing?
on minutes: totally legitimate concern. on the other hand, even at the end of the game i see RJ barely breaking a sweat so he's playing within himself.
we need to get some talent back, e.g. Burks. ANd when Obi comes back he needs to contribute to give Randle a rest. Thibs' first priority is to get THAT win. figure out rest etc later. not saying i agree with it. and it's the 180 opposite of load management. But that's his DNA

yea Elf is hard to watch... rest easy knowing he's a stop gap.
Hey the season is 10% done and we are the 4th seed and have had the toughest schedule. I laughed when Atl traded for Trae. I do not like him at all. I want the ball to move and 7 guy who are top flight defenders along with one guy who's ok but is a walking bucket (Obi has entered the conversation
)
I think perhaps the most shocking thing about the early success is that we are doing it without Christian Woods

it's cloudy at the moment. But since we all know Mav's real achilles heel is Luka's conditioning i think we should all be subscribing Luka to The Jelly of The MOnth Club (can't help myself Christmas Vacation) and hope his conditioning and play suffers more
When burks comes back it will be interesting who gets kicked out
Elf,quick
Burks,rivers
Rj,knox
Randle,Toppin
Mitch,Noel
I have to say Reggie gets the yank from the rotation or plays sparingly if Knox plays bad

Thibs loves Reggies defense and he moves the ball. I think Elf is in bigger danger and Noel is sitting except for spot duty

Elf missing RJ in the corner - complete fucking wide open - at the end of the half was a gut punch. RJ just stood there with hands ready for the pass for like 10 extra seconds after buzzer sounded. Embarrassing for a PG

I don't think the front office expected Randle to improve drastically this year, i hope he keeps improving. Unless we get a certified game changer and a top 5 pick next year il make Randle part of the knicks cornerstone.
I can see a mirror of the 2008ish indiana pacers in our power forward rotation. The pacers have Granger as their main man and paul George is still riding the bench waiting for his opportunity. Maybe the knicks can start being good already during Randle's prime years and toppin can sustain the momentum after 5 years when he enters his prime.
If Quickley emerges as the knicks starting point guard of the future, the only starting slot we should target for next year's draft is the shooting guard spot assuming RJ thrives at the 3. There will be a handful to choose from falling in the top 10.
