Opposing teams are packing the paint and playing 1-2-2 zone. This really is not that hard to break. Need to have the center setup shop in the key and run the offense there. I want to see what Mitch can do here. I would have Randle run the baseline. Quick on top. RJ and Rivers free throw extended. Move the fucking ball around and make these fookers run and move that defense to get an opening. You can also have Randle be the center and have Knox run the baseline. Some modifications also need to be done for each player. RJ should not be taking a 3. When it swings to him he needs to be a foot in front of the 3 point line. He obviously has problems hitting from that far.
Ball stickers need to stay in the bench. I am looking at you Payton.
Our current offensive set vs the zone is not doing it for me. Who the fuck runs a PnR against a zone? We also try to run a 5 out type offense. That really won't work unless you have players that can actually shoot consistently from 3.
Agree - Randle playing at the top of the key while everyone else stands around him (and can't shoot from outside) combined with trying to PnR against the zones are tough to keep watching! Mitch also really needs to give that 10 foot jumper a try!
Yup. We should be moving the ball a lot more in the zone and Randle is simply too far away from basket. I have a feeling the Thibs will figure out the right setup soon enough.
Maaannn we're starting to jog the ball up court on miss shots like we have the talent and experience to execute in the Half court.
Thibs said it right before the season started that we need to play fast, and use our youth full legs and athleticism to out hustle teams, and we were doing that. The last few games the team looks lost and unsure of themselves, and peyton is a key reason why.
Rivers being inserted in the starting line up made the bench weak
