Yet it’s the other 2 starters that are the problem. Payton and Bullock are the worst starting back court in the league by a mile.

Worst starting backcourt in the league. Changes have to be coming. I fully expect quickley and Burks to be the starting backcourt by end of the month.
Someone needs to pressure thibs to start quick . Hopeful post game interview... someone’s got to say it, you have the worst starting backcourt in the league are you going to start quick

Payton's problem is that he's being relied on too much. Hopefully Burks coming bsck will help in that dept. He can fill in as PG. Agree about Bullock. Going back to last season, not nearly enough offense to justify the minutes.

Why do you think Payton is being relied on too much? He has turned into a selfish player this year. He pounds the air out of the rock then puts his head, gets into the paint and never kicks it out to open teammates or drops it off to Mitch on the baseline.
His assist numbers are down, he can't shoot the 3 or freethrows. So, I guess relying on him to be an actual pg is too much....

Wouldnt call Payton selfish, we have few starters who can get to the rim. Dont mind him starting for now. Believe Thibs is doing a good job of managing Quickley's minutes. We have plenty of PGs on tap. Thibs went deep in the bench. Needs to go deeper.
While Payton is a convenient target, our problems go far deeper than him. Whether or not we can right this ship is becoming increasingly doubtful at this point. (Being lit up in crunch time by Dotson--seriously?)

The knicks needed a defensive boost for this game so Thibs gave Bullock 30mins! I do hope when Frank gets healthy Thibs can give that 30mins to Frank. Im confident Frank can match and even surpass that statline. This team needs a lockdown stopper to limit the opposing team's 1,2 or 3. Their defense have regressed considerably, give frank a chance to be part of the rotation, be part of this organization's future. He can be a valiable role player similar to Tony Allen.

What in God's name is DSJ doing here? That roster spot could be occupied by any number of second round pure shooters or even first round pure shooters had we traded for one.

Look, Payton is the easiest problem to fix. Bench him until he can be traded. End of experiment.
You have Quickly, Rivers, Barrett, DSJ, Pinson, and Harper who can't be worse until Frankie is healthy. And, quite honestly, if we have to move Barrett now to get better, just do it.
