Knicks · How about Andre Drummond as free agent next year? (page 1)

BRIGGS @ 1/16/2021 10:16 AM
He loves Knicks From this area. He’s a free agent we could get

We can than use Robinson as bait to help wing position

EwingsGlass @ 1/16/2021 10:30 AM
He may be the most prolific rebounder in the league. He doesn’t solve the floor spacing issues. Might actually cause issues with Randle. So, for me it’s one or the other not both.

My general thought is that it’s hard to add anyone until they solve floor spacing issues unless that person solves floor spacing issues.

Will be interesting to see which players make it out of the trade deadline.

Disagree. Actually I think Randle Drummond is a great pairing.

We could really us a third wheel than use our draft picks to fill in holes around our big players with controlled cost

WOODMANnYk @ 1/16/2021 12:27 PM
I was thinking about Drummond for next season. He's a beast double double man but looks like he's adding a couple of skill sets into his game. Only 27 yrs of age.. He will help bully these guys around the paint with his size then yes trade Mitchrob for a scoring small forward who can defend.
smackeddog @ 1/16/2021 1:44 PM
Why not, awful fit next to Randle, plays the same position as one of our few promising young guys (Mitch), helps maintain our spacing woes for the foreseeable future, puts up empty stats and is a poor defender- what's not to like?

Yeah, let's give defenses even more reasons to pack it in. We should also DeRozan and Rondo. Maybe trade two firsts for Draymond Green.

Nalod @ 1/16/2021 3:24 PM
Briggs see. Briggs want.
Every day. More see, more want.
Every day knicks don’t win, we find all things that conceptually are better then what we got.
Just pile it on. How can you argue against losing when the concepts are succeeding elsewhere? If you don’t like a trade, add a. 2nd round pick. Nobody will deny fictional instant gratification conceptual post trades with you throw in that sweetener.
ramtour420 @ 1/16/2021 4:10 PM
Well it would be a good idea if:

If he could shoot, pass and defend. Ideally all 3. He does none of that. It would also help if he was like a foot shorter and was a PG or a SG

Randle is a stretch 4. He plays from the 3 point line in.Drummond is a true 5 whose skills are still burgeoning at 26. That’s the kind of guys u want to put together. Also he’s a definite franchise player and physically the most dominant player in the nba. Mitch Robinson is no where near his class.
We don’t need role players we need franchise players— the wings actually get more space by having a Drummond. Randkes gane is on the edge of the 3 point line. He’s nothing like Drummond

xblvdels3 @ 1/17/2021 9:00 AM
The Knicks lose games because we can’t shoot and do a horrible job defending the 3.....

Robinson isn’t the issue. He is currently a double double. Still improving. Will gain physicality as he ages.

franco12 @ 1/17/2021 9:20 AM
He's 27 and probably traded this year - and will probably end up signing long term wherever he signs.

If Mitchell could shoot from outside - what a great pairing they would be.

But I agree - he doesn't really solve any of our problems. Would he be an upgrade over either MR or Randle? Probably.

GustavBahler @ 1/17/2021 10:12 AM
Would rather get a shooter, or add a PG, like Lonzo.

Mitch needs to get better at boxing out. Big reason why Drummond had his way. One thing Rolo was very good at, as a Knick.

Big reason why Drummond has his way with Mitch is because he’s a franchise type C and Mitch really is a good back up

Lonzo Ball— he stinks???

I’m ok with two great big players. It differentiates our play— we’d be dominant at 4-5

We can fill in with shooters but how many teams can physically control Drummond Randle?

You're selling Mitch, and Lonzo short. Not surprising, its always the next shiny object. Lonzo fixed his broken shot, one of the best defensive backcourt players in the league. We dont have enough scoring, or leadership in the backcourt.

Nalod @ 1/17/2021 11:00 AM
Drummond is a beast. Why did Detroit basically give up on him and seemingly Cav’s are not going with Allen?
Looking to trade him?
Drum is in great shape for his contract year. Naturally one is suspicious when this occurs. Clev has KLove already as what was seen as a harbor of talent transfer. Meaning, he was extended post Lebron and hoped to be used as a trade chip. How many times would he not have looked good on Boston the last few years if healthy?
One more time “if healthy”.

Drummond is only 26. That I get he is young. I also have seen hm at 24 looking big, lumbering and his team not thriving with him.
What I don’t know is how motivated is this guy to take what great talent he does have but the effort to keep that body in the condition to fulfil the potential once the contract is signed/. People all have different biological types and his might require far more work to play at the highest level than others.

We actually have a realistic shot at getting Giannis next summer if Mitch is part of the package

Knicks can sign Drummond to replace Mitch

5-D chess

You think Milwaukee is trading Giannis? I dunno...

WOODMANnYk @ 1/17/2021 9:09 PM
I changed my mind. NO to Drummond. Knicks would have to pay him like 150mill. No Thanks. I rather give it to the homegrown knicks players
TPercy @ 1/17/2021 9:24 PM
