I think Randle suffered more from trying to perform to justify his big contract than fit with any players on the roster.

Randle is performing as an all star because of the work he put in in the off season, having a year under his belt in NYC and have Thibs as the coach. Not us having traded any players away.

Randle and Morris played very well together. In fact, prior to trade deadline those two were complimenting each other quite well and the team was looking and playing well. Agree that Randle is playing better with Thibs. Fizdale had him trying to be a stretch Point Forward. Not a good look for a guy that has such a good inside game and can bull defenders over. Thibs has him in low post much more and dribbling much less. However, the biggest difference is that Thibs has pushed "making the simple play" all year.

As for the thread topic. I would love to see Morris back. Was always a fan of good players. As they eventually figure things out and make the team better. You can never have too many of them. He was also a gamer.

Metta World Peace would fit nicely.

Morris shot really well, Randle didn't play well and the team didn't play well

Yeah....I'm still kinda dismissing Kanter as trash, but you're right about the other guys.

Enes had 21 rebounds tonight - that counts for something doesn’t it?

Randle averaged close to 20/10 last year. Not far off from the All Star bordering 23/11 this year. If he shot just a few clicks better from three (27% last year vs 40% this year), he would have probably had better P/G numbers last year. Think the biggest reason for the negative narrative was his turnovers. Which I feel were due to Fiz incorrectly putting him in a play making role. Agree that the team did not play well. But, once again, think Fiz and the lack of pieces that were added this year were the major reason and not the pairing of Morris and Randle.

I mean, Brandon Jennings scored 50 in a game once too. He's also trash, at least by NBA standards. Trash players can do amazing things once in a blue moon.

Yep, nothing but love for Marcus, but Randle wasn't really able to cook with him last year. I will say...we could really use a role player like Dot tho...

Ugh, check his stat lines and reassess. Burks/Bullock MUCH better all around.

Morris was good last year for us, so good he netted us the draft pick we took IQ with. That said his shooting last season seems to have been an aberration there’s no way he’s a top 3point FG percentage in the league kind of guy. He’s also too slow to guard wings he’s really a PF and we already have Julius and Obi

The one positive to bringing him back would be it would massively troll KP

Idk, Randle cleaned his game up and can co-exist with RJ. We aren’t going back, because if anything those two buried RJ on the bench, but that type of production would missed. Especially since he would probably be part of the bench mob

Randle’s perimeter shooting, especially just outside the paint, has been excellent this season

Last year all he could do was bang in the low post.

Chandler @ 2/17/2021 8:10 AM
We need a reliable 3. Not another 4

I’m still thinking Beal ends up a Knick

Does anyone look up stuff before they post just to make sure they don't make an utter fool of themselves beforehand?

MORRIS IS LITERALLY FUCKING LEADING THE LEAGUE IN 3P FG%

OK, he is only #2 in the league

Look, I’m not the president of the Enes Kanter fan club or anything, but he’s averaging over 11 points and rebounds — a double double. On a good team. Illustrating my point that players who were hated on while Knicks have gone to better situations and are valued as role players. Calling them “trash” is just personal animosity. Which you’re entitled to do here. To me Kanter was someone who wanted to be a Knick and stood up to Labronna so I pull for him.

He also has a defensive rating of 119 and gets major minutes for team with the second to last worse team defensive rating in the entire league. This isn't personal. He was barely playable as a Knicks and I'm sure Portland would love to reduce his minutes if the had options. He's trash.

Watch just 5 minutes of him "playing D" and I don't care if he gives you 30 and 30 every night on the other end. He's still painful trash. As mentioned, if Nurkik and Zach Collins weren't hurt, he'd be back to being glued to the bench.

Well we have different definitions of trash. Anyway, off to start that fan club....

Having a front-court trio of Morris, Obi, and MitchRob could be entertaining.

Sometimes....I wish we could get Tina Cervasio back. Haven't seen her in a while, but I'm sure she could spell Rebecca for a few minutes. Then we could dig into the NFL Network Developmental league and get us a blue chipper. That's a solid five year plan.
joec32033 @ 2/19/2021 12:08 AM
If they get the Morris that is playing in LA, great move. If it is the Morris that played with them before he was traded, while statistically much better, it would hurt them.
