Knicks · Trade frank (page 2)

And if I am the Knicks, I have to look at trading some of these young players that aren't able to contribute and maybe need a change of scenery to determine whether they have a future in the league for an established NBA player.

Who would Orlando/Washington offer in a trade for a middling first round pick and bunch of younger unproven guys who haven't done much of note and who they don't have any roster space for?

KnickDanger @ 3/17/2021 10:30 AM
Suck it.
Vmart @ 3/17/2021 11:38 AM
It seems like Knox and Frank are one and the same. Both are struggling hard. Now I know both are not this bad. Something is going on. I think the trade rumors get to these guys and knowing they are not a part of the new management may have something to do with it.

Classic case of denial...

Just say accept it, they are not very good players and We have a losing record when either of them plays.

List of Excuses

He's young
Too may coaches
Trade rumors
He isn't being used right
he needs time
he needs to play more with so and so player
not enough minutes
He's injured

Of course I’m in denial. I do that for all the Knicks players. Last year he was coming into his own with Miller managing him. He seemed confident and headed into right direction. All to have his confidence tested again. That is what the Knicks do. Right now we are in love with Quickly. But I guarantee you the rate he jacks up shots will annoy a lot of people. He is the flavor of the day. Obi was a bad pick. But everyone loves he can dunk. Dennis Smith Jr. is happy camper to be away from the Knicks.

I don’t like to give up on defensive players but I have to admit Frank is making it hard to watch on the offensive end. I hope he can find balance between shooting and not shooting. After a while it almost feels he wants nothing to do with the basketball.
One thing he should be picking up from. Irks and Bullock and Especially IQ is let it fly. You hesitate you are done. VDesai said it best now it’s mental. No swagger in the shot. Another problem with Frank is he lacks a damn ego. He doesn’t think he is the best player in the floor.

When you shoot while pretty much wide open and either barely hit rim or miss everything it's just a slap in the face. When you want to be a PG and make a pass that shouldn't even be contemplated when a defender is licking his lips waiting to intercept and almost does, Thibs notices.

Frank man, you are failing us all

I think we are failing him. Hes not a PG...hes a Swiss army knife.....3 and D guard/sf bench player. If everybody was healthy he wouldn't even get any mins. But he hasn't complained about. I think they trying to up his value as well...and probably shot themselves in the foot looking at his offensive play. 🤔

I've crossed the PG rubicon a long time ago, I'm just talking about being a productive player in the NBA who doesn't make blatant errors and hits the rim when he shoots

He's got athletic ability, work ethic and natural talent on the defensive end, but if he has the extended yips shooting, I don't know how he can play a role. He came back with confidence and then it faded again. Its a shame because you see the flashes that he might have a nice looking jumpshot, and then he starts with the airballs as if he never shot a basketball. I think its fair to say its not gonna happen here for him.

oh that's good

That is good one. Another one was Mackey Sasser on the Mets. He always pumped two three times before throwing back to the pitchers. By the time he realized the guy on first base was standing on second base.

Said I would not participate in yet another Frank (11th man that Knick fans dream about) thread. But I can't help myself.

As I said in 2017. He does not have IT! Now everyone sees what I mean. IQ has IT. Thought Smith Jr. had IT. Which he did but it was overtaken by a shitty shot. It is that Alpha mentality, high-level skills and MOST importantly that inner confidence level that gives kids a chance to make it in the NBA. Especially in NY.

BTW, if we are going to continue to waste more time on insignificant Knicks players, can we get back to this guy!!

That's what kills me, there is zero passion in his game, and you will never mistake him for a GYM RAT

He's on of the most passive players that i have ever seen

I heard Ron hasn't been the same after his tragic hair accident.

The drop off was expected from the flames he was putting up. But he isn’t making a case (given the opportunity) to be apart of the future. He still has the opportunity to turn it back around. If not moved. But then again if he maintains this level of reliability, then its not worth it.
GustavBahler @ 3/17/2021 1:51 PM
53 minutes without a FG this stretch, means that Frank hasnt taken it to the rim enough. How many times has he been to the FT line lately?

Frank has the skills at this point. We've seen him make some nice takes to the rim this season. To quote the third book of Terminator, "anger is more useful than despair". When things go south with Frank's game he despairs. RJ gets angry(or at least more determined), comes back stronger. Thats a big reason why Barrett is taking his game to the next level, and Frank is treading water.

Remember the grief I got for calling Frank a "system" player on draft day, and not the heir apparent.

It's not the same Ron Baker if he doesn't have the hair though. This must be his evil twin bro who can actually make a jumpshot

The defense was good. The passes were very good. Turnovers were not great timing but that happens. WE used Burks as PG and that was not great. I like Alec but this was to be DRoses minutes.
As for Frank? Is it the “Yips”? Thats as more than a lack of confidence, that was more debilitating.

What? His passes were not good. After the jump ball in the 3rd quarter he almost threw it away (hitting Taj when Taj was pointing to Burks) and then did throw it away on the same play. Terrible passing instincts. Furthermore his dribble was no threat and he shot the ball terribly. What part of that is a PG?

Honestly thought he was done with the game. Thought Baker was going to take his 10 million and start a business somewhere. Does Baker attempt layups now?

Joking aside, I think he might have led his team to a title. The Covid thing might've had something to do with his return. Maybe he wants to get a jump in his coaching career.

hey dude! hoping all is well

This is an amazing and perfect comparison. Rose will come back and Frank will go back to the bench. He's gonna get a late game defensive sub call because Burks fouled out some random night and Reggie is out for health protocols. In comes Frank, ready to impact the game. He gets the steal! Pushes the ball and fires a perfect bullet pass right to the face of the chick in Dolan's band who sitting next to him (didnt Knobauch hit Keith Oberman's mom or something?)

Sucks seeing Frank fail. There always seems to be promising stretches followed by an injury. Last two games have been not only bad but costly. With so many guys out were are desperate for buckets and this was just bad for Frank.
