I liked Iggy - had a great showing in Westchester too. Trading Rivers for another DNP is fine - hoping something more coming back with Iggy included (conditional second rounder?)

Hmmm seems like we are bailing out 76ers tax

Sounds like the deal was more about finding a new home for Rivers (and Iggy). Not seeing how this deal helps us.

Something still going down for the Knicks, you just don't move Iggy for nothing

I remember liking T.Ferguson as a long-term project a few years back - athletically he's up there. Haven't heard much the past few years so he may just be an athletic guy that couldn't put it together. Hope K.Payne and the staff get some time with him as his athletic potential is very high.

That would be unfortunate but highly possible. However, I can't see the knicks trading for him and if he's bought out I have to assume he's going to the Lakers or Nets. So still hope we dodge that bullet.

Agree with this. Maybe it was prep for a future deal, but I think any benefit of that was marginal.

Hope not. Probably an under the radar guard.

I'm down with helping Rivers and Iggy find a new spot out of goodwill. Hardworkers and good professionals that didn't work out, but if Drummond is involved in anyway then I'm PISSED.

I just read he was going through a custody battle in OKC and that was around the time his game (if you want to call it that) went downhill. Dort also came in and grabbed his spot. He was straight cheeks in Philly, but that may have been due to their depth. He comes off the books after this year.

Why do i feel like the knicks lost that trade? Rivers and iggy for ferguson? Thats it? I will be sure we lost the trade if that roster spot was made for Drummond!
unstopaball12 @ 3/25/2021 1:12 PM
Roster spot can be for a bad contract that comes with picks?

The Orlando Magic franchise is finally doing the right thing and as they have been a treadmill team for years. They were the 7th and 8th seed in the last 2 playoffs and were going to miss the playoffs this year. If there was ever a year you would want to tank and secure a top draft pick, its this one.

They just secured 2 additional 1st round picks, and they have very good young prospects in Isaacs, Fultz, Anthony. In addition, they just acquired RJ Hampton and Wendell Carter Jr, and get the rest of the season to give him a long look with available minutes and with Vucevic gone, they get a long look at Bamba. They have an abundance of assets that they can trade or keep as they rebuild. Future is really bright for them.

Yes - agree 100%. Separate note - Julius Randle to the highest bidder :)

I don't see it as a loss or win. Just an interstitial move. I root for Iggy, but he's not an NBA player. And Rivers was in the doghouse. The Knicks just cleared space. Maybe Fergs pops, but I don't think they're worried either way.

Knicks62 @ 3/25/2021 1:17 PM
Still hoping for a deal for Ball.
martin @ 3/25/2021 1:19 PM
Ball, Oladipo, Lowry still on deck....
GustavBahler @ 3/25/2021 1:20 PM

Wow, like the Celtics, a few years ago. Maybe better.
