I don’t think Dolan was sitting in his far room scanning for malcontents to bully. It was his security people who were following orders and perhaps went to far. It’s been a while since “ban Dolan” has been a thing.

Understood. What I meant was if it is a rule that has a ban/escorted out penalty, it is dumb.
The other hand is there is no reason to currently wear any of this specific targeted attire, especially to the Garden, where you KNOW there is a 50-50 chance there may be some type of situation.

If someone walked into my business with that type of tshirt I would certainly tell them to fuck off and ask them to leave.

What you are missing is that Dolan has abused fans by mismanaging this team for decades. I love this year's team but I certainly am not giving Dolan a pass for the past 2 decades. Fans in stadiums all over the country have worn things that disparaged bad teams and bad management - I've seen paper bags with much worse messages. I've never heard of a fan being kicked out. Only Dolan would be so petty.
Dolan is an ass and the shirt was pretty tame. Yes, he has the right to do it, but the fans in my view shouldn't put up with it. This is the most highly valued in the NBA and Dolan knows the fan base will stick around no matter what he does. Great fans - terrible owner.

I think we all agree it was not a good look and I’d say it makes national news when its MSG and Hardly a blip in other arenas. Many are publically owned so its not an issue. Few Ventures are owned by the team.
Fans should’nt put up with it? Put up with what BTW? That Dolan has been an ass for years? We all agree he has been. Winning cures a lot. George Steinbrenner was an asshole for years. Was he abusive to fans? not really. But he was to players and a convicted felon for illegal campaign contributions. Not exactly violent crime to hate on, but fans liked his combative style. He was outspoken and crude. Trump like actually. But he won and became loved for it. He also mellowed out.
Dolan is a petulant child and we all hate that.
Point is Fans HAVE protested, HAVE worn shirts with messages and other than sell the team (be careful what you wish for) he has responded to fans outcry. Its why he hired PHil. Its why he fired Phil. Can’t undo history but if you can change the thought process (note my post from 5 years ago) you can change an outcome.
