Knicks · Buyout Market with one open roster spot (page 3)

No Teague. He’s substantially worse than Paton

The situation has changed significantly in just a few days. Mitch is out (again), and Drummond chose the Lakers as expected (although rumors claimed otherwise). Dieng is also no longer on the market. Another center would come in handy, but the question is who he will be. Pelle? Horford would be ideal, of course, but Thunder is not planning to wave him, he just won't play games until the end of the season. Even if they wave him, it still won't come to us.

The good thing is Burks has found form so when we add him to RJ and Bullock, and IQ can play SG too, the rotation on the wings is OK.

I was expecting new passing PG the whole time, but FO seems to be happy with the rotation in that position.

I think a team will trade for horford in the off-season. See him as a missing piece

By "team" do you mean the Knicks or someone else?

Horford has 27 million per season until 2023. I really don't see who needs him with that contract, and when the next season starts, he will be 35 ...

Someone else. I honestly see the mavs doing it. Horford complements KP6 really well, they have expiring contracts in THJ and Reddick.

It doesn’t work that way. The two are expiring contracts this season. When the season is over, they become free agents and you can’t trade them for another contract.

They got cap space don't they? The mavs can absorb the contract of horford and trade to the thunder. Richardson if he opts in.

OKC wins because they get a shorter deal out of it.
Dallas wins because they get a complementary piece for kp6

These things can just be looked up.

Horford will make $27M. Mavs will be at ~$90M without Hardaway. Cap will be ~$112M

Jimbo5 @ 3/30/2021 10:32 AM
Could the FO take a chance at another reclamation project in Jabari Parker? Will kp and Johnny Bryant be able to squeeze anything from Parker?

What about signing Marquese Chriss to fortify the center spot? He did some good things with the warriors

Read it again. THJ AND Reddick, then mavs can trade Richardson to the thunder as an additional piece if he opts in

Are you suggesting the Mavs will forgot their starting SG and their 6th man SG so they can sign 35 yo Al Horford at $27M and who also has the same the following season too?

They do already have WCS, Powell, Kleber at the big positions?

I don't really follow the Mavs. Horford at 28 would be a very nice C on a lot of teams but he has lost a lot.

We understood what you meant even though you expressed yourself a little vaguely in the first post. But as Martin wrote to you, you really think the Mavs would get rid of all those players just to bring in the 35 year-old Horford who has 27 million per season. It doesn't sound very realistic to me.

Jimbo5 @ 3/31/2021 7:36 AM
The FO should decide soon if they need to use the 2 roster spots or just live and die with this current group. 25 games or so to go and the competition will only get tougher. At the very least they should win against teams with lower records than them to have a chance at outright playoff spot.

This team is doing well above most expect them to be but with this current group, i hate to say this but i have a feeling that they already reached their full potential specially if Thibs sticks with Payton at the starting PG spot. This team have a tendency of starting slow out of the gate and at the start of the 3rd. A line up that always have Payton in them.
