For years, since the Knicks have been so bad at getting multiple stars in their primes, we have (esp Fish) been talking about the holy grail blueprint using the 2004 Detroit Pistons. Elite defensive team with competent players at all positions with no superstar(s). It looks like the Knicks have achieved the blueprint. If anything, with the over-achievement of Randle, they may have a home grown superstar, better than any offensive player from that Detroit team. But otherwise, it has that feel to it, don't it?
Not saying they win a chip necessarily, but it's it possible? Lightning in a bottle?
For the record, their last three losses to elite teams were by one basket.
What you say, Fishy?
I say this is what I hoped and dreamed when we signed Thibs.
We need some parts but they might already be there. The finishing guard, the long range gunner... all those pieces might actually be here. We just need more time to cook
Billups and Hamilton were underrated and in their primes. While I think the world of our guys, RJ is still raw for that kind of prime time, Payton not, DRose talent wise is better than any but physically limited to minutes/injury potential, and IQ but a rook.
the 5 losing streak before this win streak is not lost on me entirely.
Can we make a run? Sure, anything is possible. I think our back court limits us.
At the same time this compressed season somehow is benefiting us and many things are illogical. This could play well for us.
