Knicks · Wizards 8 wins in a row (page 1)

Big spark. Daniel Gifford defensive center — has played very well.
chislic @ 4/25/2021 11:24 PM
Kind of a trash 8 (see below) compared to our winning streak, but still it's not easy to win that many in a row. Props to them.

Cavs, Thunder (twice), Pistons, Kings

smackeddog @ 4/26/2021 4:35 AM
Powered by Westbrook, who looked done at the start of the season. Still glad we don't have him, but he has dragged that team back from the brink these past few weeks (not sure if that's actually a good thing for them! A high pick would have been nice)
Philc1 @ 4/26/2021 5:20 AM
If only we had traded for Westbrook

Exactly, They also beat UTAH during the streak.

Welpee @ 4/26/2021 8:36 AM
Considering they have Westbrook and Beal they're still underachieving. So their streak is impressive, but in the context of expectations what we're doing is even more impressive.

Did you see what they had to give up to get Westbrook?

Sometimes we think we could have had him and kept both Randle and RJ? We dive too deep into conversations to ignore the details.
Same thing with the Rozier for Randle stuff. Lets not forget Hornets had Bridges and Washington.

TPercy @ 4/26/2021 10:11 AM
Still a no on Westbrook. He’s doing his usual thing where he starts playing better in 2nd half of season just to let you down in the playoffs
TPercy @ 4/26/2021 10:12 AM
Daniel Gafford has been a nice revelation for them though. Been doing wonders for that team.

Then there likely would have been a lot less development from RJ and co (wouldn’t have seen the ball). Doubt Randle would have made the same leap either

nyvector16 @ 4/26/2021 3:45 PM
I think it would be hilarious if Nets end up matched up against the Wizards and lost!! LoL
There is so much arrogance with that team... it would be such karma. 🤣🤣🤣
SupremeCommander @ 4/26/2021 6:33 PM
I think the Wiz matchup really well against the Nets right now because of injury. I think the Wiz have huge weaknesses but I don’t think the Nets have the depth to exploit it. I think they’re two top heavy teams and the Nets big guns are not at 100 percent but the Westbrook and Beal are

I don't see it, barring an injury. Kyrie and Harden will put up numbers on Westbrook and Beal. Both backcourts are questionable on defense, but the Nets backcourt is just better and more efficient. And then you have Bertans or Rui trying to guard Durant. I'm listening to these clowns on DC sports radio calling us out, wanting us to break the streak and hoping they get us in the play-in. They have no idea how much Thibs is going to exploit Westbrook's shooting.

I was thinking that the other day, but I think we would be better to trade for him now, the year of development for RJ and Randle has exceeded my expectations. I never expected them to become efficient 3 point shooters.

xavier @ 4/27/2021 9:58 AM
Westbrook again? I'm not sure Thibs and Westbrook would last 10 games together...after that it would be either one or the other.
Nalod @ 4/27/2021 1:38 PM
How do you transpose him on this team as it is rostered?
KnickDanger @ 4/27/2021 4:26 PM
Radio gasbags were back on the we should have gotten Westbrook train today. No actual thinking through what it would entail and where we would be. Just "Knicks should've."

It's not just thibs, when you have 14 other guys on the roster, plus all the assistants the same page, you think WB would be this out cast.

Westbrook and Scott brooks are not a good Tandem.

I used to think he was a stat chaser, never really even liked his game, but now that i have been watching him play lately, it's no wonder KOBE said he has THE MAMBA MENTALITY, that dude puts in work..

Nalod wrote:How do you transpose him on this team as it is rostered?

You don't. You get him and his empty stats that will win you some winnable games, but he makes no one around him better. And he's a documented head case who isn't coachable.

As said by others, I'd give him and Thibs about two timeouts during his first game and Theo and the rest of the bench would be holding them apart.

So you'd have to give up how many pieces on this team to get him and pay him, and then you'd have to replace the coach that got us to where we are now.

Westbrook is a great facilitator, his 10 assists per game are not empty stats.
He would basically give us what Rose gives us at a higher level.

Especially with the 3 point shooting of Barrett and Randle.

He would also take our defense to another level also. We don’t match up well against teams with athletic point guards. Adding Westbrook to me would be like Detroit adding Rasheed Wallace, it just took their defense and team to another level.
