RJ was invisible this game and he takes that horrible final shot
Right after Rose got that steal Randle brings the ball up and gets trapped in the corner right after halfcourt. Thibs is forced to call a time-out. That was our last one. We missed not having a time-out to draw up a decent play with the last possession. Just another example of Randle being boneheaded to end the game. Thibs needed to do a much better job coaching the team to use clock and not repeatedly feed Randle who the Lakers were all too happy to trap and force into making a dumb play.
I understand RJ gotta be in and learn from these situation but the dude has zero feel for it
awful O down stretch with the reptitive 2 man game w/ Rose and Julius.
Really missed Quick and Burks. RJ couldn't seem to create at all. Frank played better tonight for chrissakes.

Barrett had a brain fart … what on earth was he thinking he could have easily beat Drummond to the hoop … at least dish it to Randle…. Barrett should never have the ball for the last second… how many games have we lost because Barrett got the ball to end the game ..
Lost this game when we did not rebound the ball and let them tie it on a BS put back ......

Yeah he was kinda ghost. Quickley was missed tonight. We gotta get somebody else who gets to the free throw line to make the game easier.
RJ was non-existent but why not give Bullock some opportunities? I do think Randle tried to play hero ball too much toward the end. AD went at Randle but made more team plays when it counted. Also, we were clearly gassed at the end and didn't make crucial defensive closeouts/stops on several occasions.
Lost this game after Randle hit the tough turnaround shot to go up 87-80 and we fed him twice in a row after that so he could take two more tough shots not using any clock. I'm so hot right now. You played so well in April and May to put yourselves in this position and you catch a break against a wounded team and you let them steal this one and deal a huge blow to your playoff hopes.
This is either going to be the loss that breaks this team or maybe just maybe the eye-opening loss that leads to self-examination and a new level of realization.

Rose can go in spurts. Julius solid but doesn’t know what to do with doubles and needs a PG. Bullock a good bench player on a small contract, same with Noel. Need players that get to FT line. Need PG. RJ has a really really long way to go.

Wow, we beat the Clippers and we're the greatest team in the world, we lose to the Lakers and now we're talked about like we're trash. Gotta love Knick fans.

They coasted. What else do you call it when you don't box out on getting defensive rebounds while of offense "Dump it to Randle repeatedly" was the strategy. And Randle was playing on emotion like in the schoolyard not playing smart. We took a commanding lead in the 4th and thought the game was over. I blame Thibs too. He let it get away.

The way we lost was awful. I'm glad you don't care.
It's ok to lose close games and the Lakers (when healthy) are a better team - that said, it's very frustrating to watch Randle go 1 on 1 from the 6 minute mark of the 4th through the overtime. In the 4th we lost a 7 pt lead, guys were spent and we kept trying the same approach - in a way we were lucky the Lakers were also depleted and didn't take over sooner. We could say Burks and IQ would have helped but pretty sure Schroeder and Lebron would have also helped the Lakers. On a positive note - I did like the minutes Frank played in the 4th.

1) If you think RJ could've "easily" beat Drummond to the hoop then I assume you feel the same about Rose before he passed to RJ? 2) RJ had three guys converge on him and he had to back it out. 3) I put that last play more on Rose than RJ. The PG gotta get us in a better position for a last second shot. 4) The shot people should really be focusing on was that last shot in regulation that Randle missed. VERY makeable shot. 5) The put back rebound by Matthews was a huge play too, and one that was on Rose too.
RJ had a horrible game, there no getting around that. But I'm not putting this loss on him. This was a team lost in my opinion. Rose and Randle made some big plays but they also made plenty of mistakes in key moments too.
