If anything, it shows why he's going to get max. Even players you think should be 1b get max level contracts.

You don't give julius 30-35 million dollar contract like middleton has it right now. The perfect contract for julius is you pick his option up of 20 million and give him 4 years 100 million 25 million a year.

Well, good luck on assembling a team if you don't plan on signing even players like Julius to a long term contract. Not sure what your plan is, just sign 1 year $6mil deals to whatever players can't sign elsewhere?

So the choice is to lock him to a max worth less now, or to wait and potentially have to pay him to max in the $30M range?

I was expecting to see Elfrid Payton's name in that article. Moves like this are common. I think the Lakers should've actually scouted Drummond before making this promise tho.

And by scouting you mean ask any schmo off the street what Drummond has done in the last 2 years?
NICOLAS BATUM is the clips starting center (against Gobert) despite them having 3 healthy ones on the bench, including Cousins.
It's just another testament at how much the center position matter

Like Jokic and Embiid you mean?

Those 2 and Vucevic and BAM, thats it..
Do you think you need a premier CENTER to win in this league?

Capella had a pretty big impact against us, just saying

No. It's a testament to how the Clips think they can beat Utah.

Captain Obviously you can win without a premiere center. But having a guy like Embiid drop 40 while Trae shoots 1 of 7 from 3 just makes me happy.
Is it okay to win with a premiere center? Wonder if Doncic would like playing with a premiere center?

Facts. Everyone here been saying he was sorry but it seems like Lakers fell for that big name crap.

We had some people who wanted him. Don't say everyone :)

perhaps..
I'm just a bigger fan of small ball, fast pace, 3 point shooting.
I'm not fan of the a half court traditional line up.
What make Gobert position so relevant for UTAH is that he surrounded by hella shooters, he's a big time rebounder and paint protector.

Its not by accident. Utah had the best record in the NBA. Ayton is a a big. They had second best record.
I thought Batam was reprising the Boris Diaw “ Give me a Cigerette and let me work my rump in the middle as I am French” Thing that Pop did successfully.
Clips tried to run Utah off the court. Not if Joe Ingles has anything to say about it! Clips did not succeed.

Not even. We have players like RJ and Luka telling the Olympics. We're gonna have plenty of content to keep us going.
Nets lost. Guessing their three fans are upset.
