Feels like we have to keep Burks right? Guy is a stone cold assasin. I thought you could find a scorer in the draft, but the mentality of Burks is hard to replicate.

Agreed.

Yea a drafted player were we are picking can’t duplicate what burks did for us yesterday
I Havnt openly spoke about it here because more were on the keep bullock side but I’ve really felt bullock is more replaceable for months now than burks.
I think a player like Duarte or kispert can fill bullocks role
I know I know Reggie usually guards the oppositions best player.
I think Duarte can fill that hole with time/experience.
Duarte has roughly similar frame measurements and + side athletically than bullock.
Disclaimer : fully expect bullock to bounce back. Looking forward to it!
For the hawks bogdan and gallinari ate there wing snipers
We need to secure a sniper wing in this draft.
Bullock performed this role exceptionally this year. But who knows how much money he will be looking for
Snipers quietly win games/series
Bring back Burks on a 2 yr $25 million deal
Work on locking up Mitch
We've talked about a couple lesser PG options like Cam Payne. What about Raul Neto from washington? He's nothing special but has been starting washington and known as their most versatile defender and is also a pretty efficient outside shooter and finisher. He can replace Payton and Ntilikina (as a defensive stopper) for cheaper. He was in Utah for years so he has a connection to the front office and coaching staff (similar to Burks.)

Ok I’ll check it out
Ok yea I could see this if we are dumpster diving for upside on the cheap.
Low volume 3 point percentage but confident he would not be hoisting bricks like Payton. We would feel confident if wide open it’s going in.
I’m guessing he is a solid decision maker also.

Speaking on Mitch. Goes to show us We can get away with him not being here
Vs some teams but other teams we need what he brings.

We miss Mitch right now holy cow
Pay the man
I am not sure how much loyalty is owed our free agents but only about 5 teams are projected to have more than 10 million in space so their options are limited. From the Knicks side, keeping Rose should be a higher priority than signing Lowry. That also goes for a raft of other free agents over Bullock, Burks, and Noel. Unless a top tier guy like DeRozsn calls back, we should focus on out own.

you had me at hello.
We talking regular season DeRozan or the playoff choke one?
Gotta really dig on who the next Burks/Bullocks are. If we just double their pay and give em long term deals it kills us later. Knicks did it right, finding some guys on value deals that had bounced around, but had skill to bring to the table in a role. Dougie McBuckets would be a good fit coming back here if one of those guys is priced out (though who the f knows, maybe Doug gets more money than them).

Yes. Feel like guys like Tony Snell should be looked at thru this lens

Feel like Tony is a big step down down from Bullock/Burks and should be a last resort. Not real high on Dougie, but he'd be OK for the right price.

Why? What is different about Tony than Bullock/Burks were a year ago?
Tony Snell a solid defender and 3pt shooter. After that I'm not familiar with his game. And to be clear: I'm talking about a 1 year deal at low cost.
Martin I think you are on the money with Snell. If he took 1 yr 4-5mm deal I'd welcome him here. Honestly he could be a very nice approximation of Bullock. Bullock was a guy who toiled around till he got the right opportunity. Snell's historical shooting suggest he can play that role. Another thing about Snell and Doug - both played on the Bulls for Thibs. Snell actually got run for Thibs over Dougie if memory serves.
I was impressed with Doug on D when he was here. Aside from being a valuable sniper I thought he gave a credible effort on D.

Low volume three point shooter. Almost Frank like. His per 36 min is like 9ppg. And he has like a third Burks creation skills. Reggie was recovering from injury last year, but he was at the same level effectiveness in the few years prior to coming here. Reggie and Snell are the same age, so you can't use the upside argument. Yeah, you pick up a little more on defense (according to the numbers) but you lose offensive effectiveness.

I’d only bring back Rose on a one year deal at $8-10 mil
And he’d probably take that. I don’t think Rose will get a better offer on the open market and he loves Thibs

I agree here. I actually thought the Knicks would take his 12mm off the Hawks this season. Reminds me of Bullock in almost every sense. I could see Snell joining us regardless of whether Bullock is here. Seems like a solid prototype player for this team.

I think my concern is that many teams will have the MLE available this season and will be able to make an approximately 10m offer. This puts a lot of our core free agents in the bidding market. I think it puts the price on our guys at that 10m price number and the Knicks FO has to decide whether to pay the price to retain the core and keep building or to bring in fresh faces and re-build chemistry. These are the guys you prefer to sign with the MLE and use cap space on higher tier talent. It all depends on what other players are willing to take the MLE.
What do you guys think of Kelly Oubre?
Time to trade Randle this offseason fellas
