I don't know about any you guys but i will be happy when frank nitkinia and elfrid payton will be off this team after the playoffs are over. Both players sucks on offense can't shot or create for others. The only think frank nitkina has is defense over elfrid payton other than that there both trash. I don't care where both players go next season but don't come back here next season the experiment failed. Frank nitkina needs to go to team with fresh start maybe team like spurs, clippers, heat, charlotte, magic, jazz, suns, bucks or raptors better devlopement staffs over there. Elfrid payton go to veteran team like sixers, lakers, celtics, nuggets, or blazers less pressure being third ball handler then main point guard. I saw lot podcasts of knicks fans last night talking about frank nitkinia like he was savior to this series his fans are so blind that just better we part ways after season with him because fans are such headache to front office in a bad way. We all know elfrid payton sucks but this year he been hot garbage for 90 percent of the season.

Elfrid Payton can blow me

Frank has done what was asked of him during the off-season. He was our best 3point shooter at the beginning of the season. Also one of, if not the best defenders on the team. Which resulted in him having no playing time. Now his role is strictly for a last defensive possession at the end of the game. I can understand how people want to move on from him, but it's strictly on the coach who could not incorporate Frank. Frank has done what was asked of him in the off-season. So far his trajectory is similar to Trevor Ariza. With better defensive instincts

Payton will obviously be gone, and be replaced either with a new starter or a bench player who can provide more than him. He has been the one frustrating piece in an awesome season.

Frank just hasn't done enough to really have much of an opinion on. I think coming into this year most of our expectations were low on him and anything he provided would be a plus. He can still get better, but his lack of confidence on the offensive side may prevent him from ever being anything other than a situational defender in the exact way he is being used now. I do expect him to get picked up by a rebuilding team, such as Orlando or Houston and get minutes without concern for winning just to see what he can do without worrying about competing for minutes.

Well said. Frank should’ve been groomed for the Marcus Smart role all season. Instead we gave Payton minutes when it was probably best to invest those minutes in Frank. This is a coaching staff decision and it’s probably the thing that will sink us this series.

Trevor Ariza is a good comparison for what Frank brings. He will for sure have a career in the league if he can just continue to improve his shooting while maintaining or improving his defensive skills.

Yep, everything you said is pretty much spot on. There was a very small sample size of Frank( a 🍕 of Frank ) this season to really make any conclusions. We have been in the win now mode from day 1 of Thibs being here
Nalod @ 5/25/2021 1:38 PM
Wide variance of opinions on Frank. 4 years and a new coach every year. Blame, fault and reasoning all matter.
Triple says he don’t give enough. others think defense is giving. Some say he is a diva, some perhaps he over thinks the game.
Fans prerogative to have an opinion. He was Leons client for while. Some think Leon would be mad and want him gone. Others might think he is intimate with his situation. Leon came to fix Randle, perhaps he want so do the same for Frank.
Can one be developed while winning “now”? Can he succeed elsewhere?
jrodmc @ 5/25/2021 2:28 PM
Signing Luca is probably the first wave goodbye to one or both of them.

I do want Frank to succeed here, even if it's just some feel good SMOTY story for one season before he moves on to Sactown or back to Euroball. If he's used correctly and not as some gimmick by Thibs, maybe that could happen.

Or maybe Triple's right. He's been here 4 years, and possibly doesn't give enough of a shit at this point to be able to show Thibs and co that he's worth more than 48 seconds at the end of games.

It still seems like Thibs is trying like hell to get Frankie's magic groin to rip permanently.

I think it's possible to pull for a player and point out his good points or potential while not being in denial of their shortcomings. Especially if they are one of the Big 15. But haters gonna blah blah blah and someone has to be the scapegoat it seems especially when we lose a game but even also when we win. Hoping and believing that will happen in the next game and who knows maybe one of our whipping boys will contribute.
Panos @ 5/25/2021 10:06 PM
Bummer about Frank. I was hoping to eat crow. I was hoping he would grow some balls. But he's been a deer in the headlights for too long.

Miller got way more out of Ntilikina than Thibs ever did. At the end of last year, Ntilikina was a stopper and while his scoring was an issue the team was thriving.

Watching the Hawks man-handle the Knicks on defense is sickening. I almost feel that Thibs wants to beat Atlanta on his own terms instead of any other way. Once we had a lead, why not take Rose out to save his stamina and try locking down Atl for a few minutes.

When NOBODY is scoring then using Frankie is a no-brainer, it can't be worse and may in fact be better.

Rose trying to guard Trae in the second half of games is nauseating
