Three guys is a lot to add to a roster at one time, especially on on one thats competing. I assume Frank, Payton and Pelle are gone. But then you have to factor in possible free agent signings. I don't see the Knicks keeping all four picks.

How long has it been since we could look at our team, like the roster well enough to wonder how new guys can improve things

for the last many years, we've generally wanted deep cleaning of the roster

that said, these slots (and 32) have had decent talent available

that late in the first round there is less pressure and Knicks could take a shot on a guy who will play a full G league season then treat him like a Sept call up if he plays well.

Dont assume those guys are gone... ELF yes but Frank and Pelle may be back for cheap if Thibs likes them. Frank's QO is like $8.5mm
Knowing Leon (assuming Frank like Thibs) we bring Frank back for that but for 3 years which would be a really solid move imo

They could do the G-League thing, but he would still count as roster spot. Euro draft and stash would be ideal. Honestly, I see them moving some of these or trying to consolidate them and move up.

I expect Frank, Payton and Knox are not on the team next year. Those are three open roster spots.

We picked up the option on Knox. He's safe for the time being.

We actually have four picks - people aren’t mentioning Philly’s second rounder (58).

Good catch with Knox's option being picked up. The Knicks have a 1.7 option for Norvel Pelle as well. Rose worked some magic last year so if he swings The 21 pick for a future top 3 protected pick and a second, I am on board.

Knicks currently have 15 (main) players to consider for 21/22. This will likely be reduced to 13 through the elimination of Payton and Frank. Going to estimate they bring back 3 of their 5 current free agents. That would leave them at 11 returning players. I imagine they will also try to move Knox and Pelle - potentially opening up two more spots. Mitch's option will be picked up and Luca is an unknown. This would leave the team somewhere between 4-6 open roster spots for next year for rookies and signings (not including 2 way deals / G-League).

Under contract for next year:
Randal
RJ
Obi
IQ
Knox
Pelle

Team Options
Mitch
Luca

Targets to return (not under contract for 21/22)
Rose
Burks
Noel
Bullock
Gibson

Likely cut loose (not under contract for 21/22)
Payton
Frank (QO)

That's the one Brock is most happy about and will Euro stash that so fast we all won't know what happened at 2am on draft night

Good list. I do think Pelle is more under the Team Options but that's just nit picking

Also, forget to list Pinson as a target to return. That is unexcusable!

for sooooo long we wanted draft assets. Now we have them but kind of like our guys too....

Makes me wonder what the hell OKC is going to do with their trove

How we manipulated the draft last year gives me high hopes....that was a sign things were gonna be different.
