1. Trade Robinson, 19 and 32 to Indiana for Myles Turner. Indiana needs to shake things up and the Knicks can get a shot blocking, floor spacing center age 25.

2. Draft Chris Duarte or Aaron Henry at 21. An nba ready 2-way wing.

3. Sign Demar DeRozan. He’s a big wing who can take the pressure off of Randle and should age well given his style of play.

4. Bring back Rose with remaining cap space and use bird rights to sign Bullock for a mid level deal.

5. Bring Gibson back on a 1 year deal, another cheap big, and a cheap guard for depth like Ish Smith.

6. Start Quickley as a floor spacer at PG

Starters: Quickley, Barrett, DeRozan, Randle, Turner

Bench Rotation: Rose, Vildoza, Bullock, Toppin, Gibson

Depth: Ish Smith, Duarte, Pinson, Pelle, minimum big.

Basically surrounding Randle and DeRozan with shooting and still having a dangerous bench. This series has exposed what the Knicks need to fix, while adding valuable experience for Randle, Barrett, Quickley as the guys we will continue to build around.

Interesting I’ll dissect it.

1. Would the pacers trade him to us for Robinson 19 and 32. Not sure... but yes to him as a player

2.I like Henry defensive iq but I’m concerned he will be a brick layer. Duarte I guess

3. Derezon ? Umm ok

4. Bring back rose. Of course. bullock... he can’t dribble and is useless in playoffs if we can’t get him open. ( great in regular season though)

5. Taj.. of course.. he a real one. He might lose the war but he always battles.

You really think IQ can run a team just because he can shoot deep 3's, and runners, is that all the qualifications you need?

I won't even dive into how much of a non factor he's been in these playoffs (24% fg).

I think regardless there’s a trade to be had with Indiana. If not Turner, Brogdon is especially interesting. He’s a 2-way player who can play either guard position. And one interesting caveat; he switched to CAA last year. In the Knicks relationship building world, it makes him a more likely target than the average player. Maybe the Knicks can turn these draft picks (or future picks) into brogdon.

Having randle as point FWD does't always work, as you can see in these playoffs

jeez, we are already blowing this team up? first, atlanta has a better roster than us and it would have had a better record if they had mcmillan as the coach from the beginning. they were expected to make the playoffs. that brings me to my second point. we EXCEEDED expectations. many analysts thought we had one of the worst rosters in the league and we got the 4th seed in the playoffs. we finally had some luck roll our way and we got there. our major players besides rose are experiencing the playoffs for the first time. it is eye opening and they did not respond the way we hoped. it does not mean that we blow it up. it means we need serious retooling. it is very possible with the draft capital we got and the cap room. they will get a player they need. they need a pg. quickley isnt it yet and rose, as much as he was amazing, cant be depended on doing that again. i like the sexton rumors. he is what we need. ball is another. i would avoid conley or lowry. the one thing i like about this team is the players dont rest on their laurels. believe me, randle, if we lose the series wednesday, will be working on his game to improve this summer as well as barrett. i know its disappointed and downright embarrassing especially since we are getting clowned on by everyone. we can move past that and be better next year and get revenge on trae and the hawks next year hopefully in the playoffs when both teams are better. he is a villain for us for years and i for one am excited to see how we respond to that. like the knicks in the 90s against jordan, miller, penny, etc.

Need to get Thibs a star wing or guard. All his teams that have contended have had one (DRose or Butler).

Randle I am not sure is someone that leads a team as a #1 in the playoffs. So you need that #1 star wing or guard. That would be the priority. After that, add some more shooting and spacing. Thibs is defense first, so need players who will defend their man, as well as shoot. Not just shooters.

Correct. Adding DeRozan would help alleviate the playmaking concerns. Making Randle a playmaker isn’t the issue, it’s when he’s the only playmaker that has become the concern in the playoffs. You add a DeRozan or Brogdon and it adds that extra playmaking element without taking away from what has worked in the regular season.

Turner is overrated. Mitch is a pretty solid young piece. With a decent point guard on a pick and roll he’s very difficult to stop.

I don’t want to recreate Toronto, but I bet you could get Derozen and Lowry on a packaged two year deal. With Mitch, Barrett and Randle that’s a pretty solid squad in the East. Gives the team a pretty strong bench.

Agreed. My only concern is lack of spacing with DeRozan and Mitch on the floor together. I felt like Turner is a good fit to help solve that. But it’s worth a try either way.

Do we want to pay Julius 35MM? Is the big question right now?

The front office missed a nice opportunity with Bogey. He was undervalued and would have been perfect for this team. We certainly need shooting. Not sure that wing is out there.

Can’t make the mistake of over paying role players. That always what crushed us in the past.

If he extends this summer, then we get him for much less than that but if he dosent then we get 1 more season of him where he can prove his consistency. Win win for both parties either way but bottom line is that unless something crazy happens, Julius will be a Knick for a long time.

Team clearly needs a knockdown shooter and a player that can create for others. Randle was our de-facto PG this year. Rose isn't really a true PG anymore. Maybe Luca Vildoza plays that role, but we really need to be to facilitate offense in more than the cpl of ways we have at the moment.

Bogi wasn't undervalued. Milwaukee was willing to give up a lot for him. He wanted to go to a contender and no one thought the Knicks were a playoff team prior to the start of the season. But you know who have been a good fit in his prime? Courtney Lee with his defense, three point shooting and tertiary ball handlinh... unfortunately we signed him at the wrong time Fournier will be out there, but Bill Simmons mentioned his playoff stats and they are bad! I think he has like a 6 PER in the postseason.

“Fix”? Who said they broken? Fans cuz they losing? C’maon man, let them play. Then go about “fixing” them.

who is worth keeping on this roster long term?

Randle, RJ, IQ. Maybe Noelle & Robinson.

We need to upgrade our PG. Rose has performed amazingly, beyond expectations, and anything we get from him next year will be gravy.

While we might have shot well for stretches this year, we need more athleticism and shooting.

I worry about being opportunistic and picking up a star player that is getting dumped by a capped out team- so imagine Russell Westbrook or Jimmy Butler.

2 Re-sign Rose,Bullock, Gibson, Pelle and Pinson
3. Sign Kyle Lowry
4. Draft BPA at 19
5. Balance roster with situational players

Unlike most scenarios that people suggest, this is not a dream scenario but something that can realistically happen. It would patch up our two biggest holes (starter PG and wing) although I have to admit I have some doubts. First, Barnes is more PF to me than SF, and second, Lowry is a small PG and such sooner or later experience a drastic drop if their name is not Chris Paul. Lowry is 35 and I’m afraid his next season could be a big disappointment. I don’t know how many times he’s been mentioned as a potential reinforcement for us and I really wouldn’t like him to come right at the moment when from a great starter he becomes a solid backup.

Its not “Fixing” its evolving the team to the next level. Given how far we came in just one season this will not be easy. The notion of bringing back the team when things were going all so well is normal fan reaction. Fact is to move forward we might have to take a step back. 4th seed was likley an over reach. A good thing. Want a measure, look at Milwaukee one seed higher and compare us. Look at ATL cleaning our clock thus far. Maybe I’m wrong, in fact I hope I am and we come back from 1-3.
Let’s say we don’t, it will not be the fans emotions that can project what this team can do. Its a cut throat business. We rode DRose back to get us here. Fact is he might want a big raise over his love for Gotham city. He deserves it but if he gets it perhaps its not our best longer term move.
To move forward some hard decisions will have to be made. Does not take a hard imagination to look at randle objectively and cringe just a bit as him being a max player and building around him. one can’t just say “if he was our 3rd best player” and think he can produce at same level and install Barrett and another ahead of him. Him at this level he controlled the ball.
To stay at this level things will have to change. Barrett will continue to improve and grow as the alpha. Randle has to find his place off the ball. Sure I’d pay him, but not with the expectation of what happend this season. Thats just my take. Maybe we ride then trade him down the road? Yeah, its a tough business.
And letting go of Frank might be among the easy one..........

I want nothing to do with Derozan. The guy cannot shoot. He’s just a slasher
