We need to keep cap space open until we get a primary scorer.
I like these guys. They played well this year but they have to go
1. Noel
2. Burks
3. Bullock
4. Ntlikina
5. Payton
6. Knox
Every one of these players in theory can be replaced by a rookie or low cost journeyman
Yes it will cost us a few regular season victories
We need
1. Elite scoring wing
2. Pg who is a headache to the other team

Why does Noel need to go?
Ok he is the most difficult. There is no logical reason. He plays well. But imo he can be replaced also.
You can keep 1 of these guys on the list. Your choice

I have seen no toughness since game 2
Hii is w many f rebounds and 50-50 balls did we give away tonigh
And we simply gave up here watching now
From the coach to the last player. Good regular season that has been spiked by tgis absolute sht show of embarrassment
No good takeaways here
You just swing between one extreme to the opposite with literally nothing in between
If I’m going down. I’m gonna go down swinging. The Knicks went down like they did not care.
This sort of thing is one of the reasons players don't want to come here and why so many struggle when they do- loud fans who turn on players in an instant-would you honestly want to play for such highly conditional fans?
If players play well they get praise beyond belief. If they suck they get told they suck. Its the NY way. We going to be real with you. I would not want it any other way. If you can't handle being told the truth this is not the place for you.

Come back when you have a logical reason.

Some people forget that the hawks landed all the top free agents and big splash moves...if they lost in the 1st round, it would be an epic failure with the additions they made. We basically have the same team and made it to the 4th seed.
I'm excited for the hard work guys like RJ and Randle will put in over the off-season. They made huge strides last summer. They won't have as much time this offseason but with their work ethic we shouldn't be surprised to see even more internal improvement.

Well....the only players that can handle the truth are retired or about to retire. Time for knick fans to get used to this soft and sensitive generation of basketball players coming in. I dont think Charles Oakley and Anthony Mason are in the draft. Randle did the best he could do with the skills he has. Thibs tried to shake things up. Rose at 32 can only give you what he did in the regular season, which is off the bench mins. He's not ready for 40 mins a game play in thibs system. The question is, has thibs learned anything? Or will he only ride 2 players again, with a short rotation. Thibs needs to find players he can grind down or learn how to manage his players mins per the roster at hand.
We went as far as we could. It's not like we was getting out of the 2nd round anyway. Be happy these guys got some playoff experience, while keeping our cap situation in tack. Now its the FO time to step up and shine. What's the plan moving forward? We can go in so many directions at this point. Is this team ready to make a finals push next season? Are we 1 or 2 players away? If not, I would slow down on mortgaging the future with our typical moves of the past. I like what we did so far. We improved without making any significant moves. Can Randle and RJ reach another level next season? Can we get a legit star to play next to Randle? Or do we trade Randle and build around our youth movement? Thibs is here to win. And he wins with vets.

Great post on all avenues
We started the season with fans calling for a Randle trade and we end the season the same way. Too funny.

Noel? To anchor a defense? Not too many of those in the league that would be a better backup if Mitch also comes back.
Noel is a guy I'd want back. Prob the only one on your list

Actually it went from trade Randle....to MVP Randle.....to Randle needs help. He really has the heart of a NYer. But our skill level as a team is not on the same level as the hawks or any other team in the playoffs right now. Thats just the truth.
The proverbial definition of insanity - trying the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. Rose and Gibson were playing on fumes - wholly overmatched.
Trae showed in the first minute that he could do what he wanted. Writing on the wall for any coach who doesn't have his head stuck up his own ass.

Real talk, there are other teams behind us like Chicago who will be on our tail. Unfortunately, I don't see many realistic options for improvement this year.
We would have done better if Noel wasn’t injured. He would really be on another level if he could make 10 footer consistently.
I would say he should be the only one brought back whose contract is up. (Rose also) Very solid backup when healthy. Learn to shoot better lol

You had me on the title, then you lost me on the “girlie men” crap. WTF man? That’s totally crap right there in so many ways.

I remember before the season started they were looked at as one of the most dangerous teams in the East. Then they played badly, then after the coaching changed they played like they were supposed to

This is why I like this team much much more than 2012-2013 one. That was a win now team. This team is for the long term development, except we seem to have fast forwarded that because of Randle's and RJ's WORK ETHICS. Exactly what's needed
In terms of this season, I’m conflicted.
On one hand, I will join all of your high praises on the regular season. It’s been the best time I’ve had since Linsanity and the last playoff run. Probably more, so much so that it pushed me to make a trip to NY and be part of this special season by going to my first NBA and Knicks game in NY. It was special and represented the hardworking and overachieving nature of the city and the fans.
Now, I’ll be honest and say that I feel very sad about the ending, and not because we lost. I’m sad that the Knicks never looked like the hardworking, good adjusting, overachieving team that always found a way. We looked so overmatched, it just left me this hallow sense that we should’ve been a lottery team because we are way worse than we looked in the regular season.
In the end, I thank them for the good memories, but I realize we are farther from being a contending team than their good stretch made me think, and yes, a good stretch. We were a .500 team for half a season, but thanks to a solid ending our record looked as good as it did. We need big work. Half of this roster should be gone. Some key pieces need to be evaluated to see their true value. We aren’t as close as we thought, and have a hard work ahead to define who should we keep and who should go.
