Slightly undersized skill center that plays very very hard. Hes the most skilled C after Mobley

Seems like the perfect Spurs kind of guy.
Also a more modern McHale

He kind of reminds me of a slightly shorter, less athletic Pau.

Was looking at a workout tape and clips of this kid last week.
Reminds of right handed Sabonis maybe - won’t be able to protect rim or potentially handle big/small switches especially in playoffs (big concern) but will probably create havoc offensively with nice package of skills.

Looks much better defensively than sabonis. Plays harder on the D

He will be good for someone.

Seems like a great piece for someone. I don’t think he’s the right fit here. We really have such a golden opportunity to draft a high level wing. Bouknight, Moody, Kispert, Duarte, Murphy, cam Thomas. Some real talent to add. Basically we have a chance to find a higher upside version of Bullock or Burks. To me it’s like a do-over for passing on mikal bridges.

I saw basketball as a physical contact sport from when I first observed it.
Sports is a replication of war. Football 🏈 hockey 🏒 basketball 🏀…
Over the years it has become about skill they tell me.
All for skill but I want to see skill when faced with mental and physical adversity and how well skill holds up under those circumstances.
I’ve seen Jordan get roughed up by the pistons on film. I’ve seen the Knicks try to replicate sone of that physicality on him in the early 90s
I’ve seen Kobe get enter a boxing match with Chris childs
Tray young seemed to understand what basketball is about. Besides for the spitting and racial slurs which are not called for fans are going to be rowdy. From his comments I think he would tolerate sone physical play and I think he would adjust. This is because he seems to have a grasp on what basketball is/was.

I’m looking for bpa only. Duarte is my only lock player if available. What I’m gonna finalize over 3 weeks is a list of 6 realtic players and pick them by bpa rank. Won’t take two centers but another other position is open

Yea we should get serious in about 2 weeks about who/what we really need. Top 3 list
I read an article the Knicks could get to pick 10 -14 with cash knox and 19/21
Think we are looking at what we had last year something like 8-14 pick and a 32nd pick
So I think we are adding 2 players
Pg C or w
Wing Pg
Wing Center
Wing Wing
Lol
I think we will be impressed with the move they make.
I Havnt been disappointed by any move they have made so far.
This draft is strong. We have reviewed all of the players and 3 weeks left we think we know who we want but there are so many good players it’s kinda not certain.
Maybe next week we should create a topic of a player each day projected 7-30 and list why we think they would help and their deficiencies and positives

But he is playing against non-NBA talent ——- can’t compare Sabonis playing against nba centers and the kid defending 6’8” non-nba talent.
I do think he struggles against size as well — seems to require 3rd and 4th moves to get some shots off - still intriguing though

Counter moves are what separate the good scorers from the OK ones. I wouldn't say he struggles against size on offense more than the majority of NBA players. Now defense...will his offensive profile be enough to keep him on the floor. You can't discount how this teenager has dominated one of the tougher leagues in the world. Sabonis is a crap defender and he's made it work. Maybe this guy can too.

Passing is the skill that makes good players great.
