ITS DONE! No more countdowns.

PRESIDENT OBAMA takes office on 1-20-2009 bringing an end to an error.
MaTT4281 @ 11/4/2008 11:12 PM
It's all over! President Barack Obama will be in office in a couple short months! Let's just hope Bush doesn't press his giant f##k-up button one more time before January.
GKFv2 @ 11/4/2008 11:14 PM

"That's right, sign those papers over to me you son of a bitch!"
Silverfuel @ 11/4/2008 11:17 PM
I bet martin is watching this at a bar getting drunk right now.
MaTT4281 @ 11/4/2008 11:21 PM
I just sat through Fox News (my roommates are conservatives, we've been switching between this crap and CNN) and actually listened to Karl Rove try to argue America has been past racial boundaries for decades because we've had the Cosby show...

It's been 4 years - it's finally time to go and correct this giant fuck-up once and for all.

Don't be frightened by the "elitist". Sometimes it's better to have the smarter man in office than your "friend".

This countdown has been great, but the best part about it is it's OVER. Let's get it right this time.

Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome in the next president of the United States.

DrkPhoenixSaga @ 11/5/2008 12:51 AM
I just learned of this now. Way to stick with it.

Congrats to all!!!

btw Fox News? Wow, they really have some blatantly ignorant news there.
Bippity10 @ 11/5/2008 6:19 AM
Obama dominated the vote among young voters. America really is changing. I think it's all us older folks who are telling everyone that america hasn't changed, who really haven't changed.

I'm a big beleiver in education. I believe that taking money from the rich and putting it into checks to the poor will not be the key to stimulating the economy. Poor people who don't pay taxes in the first place, will still be poor. I wish that money could be spent on improving our schools, especially in the inner city, but that is a pipe dream. But I will say that the simple fact that Obama was elected will have such an effect on children in schools. For many, Obama will be the role model and not Stephon Marbury or some musician. Hopefully it changes the way many view the importance of education and the proper way to conduct yourself.

It's a great day today. The first black president. Whether you supported him or not he is our president. Hopefully all of us can putour differences in philosophy aside and support the guy. And hopefully he can be a good president and not just another politician that disappoints us.

Actually, isn't it about balancing the percentage of disposable income taxed? More disposable income means higher taxes?

Also it's not about cutting checks for the poor, it's about stimulating the economy, health care, education and stopping hemorrhaging money in Iraq.

At least that's what we are told by president after president and Congressman after Congressman etc. Yet through all of this talk there is a steady decline in our educational system and the lives of people in our inner cities.
knicksbabyyeah @ 11/5/2008 7:35 AM
yup, that's why Obama won with "change" and "yes we can"

It remains to be seen still. Many of us are happy he won. Many of us should use the time now to celebrate. All that is well and good. Now it's up to Obama and his staff to make the change reality. I understand Obama's economic theory and don't endorse or rally against it. I also understand the view from the other side as well. I came from poor and made something of myself through hard work and education. I had a great role model and now every minority in america has one too. But now that I have money and worked my asse off to get it, I'm more than happy to give some back. But I want to make sure it goes to the right places. Not some government program that doesn't work. In those cases I'd rather keep it to myself so that I can give to my kids. It remains to be seen if Obama changes the wasted taxation of the past and actually puts it to good use. Don't get me wrong, I have great hope that he will. But as when the Knicks sign a new GM or a new player I don't give them credit until they actually succeed.

Go Obama!

martin @ 11/5/2008 10:22 AM

You know, I'm still a little ticked off I never got a VP call - I mean, I have just as much foreign policy experience as Sarah Palin, if not more. I've lived in NY AND Texas - they're both by the borders - NATO mean anything to you?
